Create your own mushroom compost!
    #2615206 - 04/29/04 10:02 AM (13 years, 2 months ago)

http://www.themushroompatch.com/mushroom_compost.htm

Just found this...  It's a step-by-step guide to making your own mushroom compost (very comprehensive  )

While I'm here...

I have some compost I got from the Takahama shiitake farm today.  It's from their rubbish pile and was originally about 80% spent shiitake substrate (supplemented hardwood sawdust) and 20% mushrooms not 'pretty' enough for the shops...  It looks to have been composting for a good 12 months or so (very rich and dark and I saw some REAL big worms in there)

Can I use this for growing 'compost lovers'?  I know that 'mushroom compost' isn't viable as a substrate anymore, but this isn't 'mushroom compost', it's compost made from mushrooms (and spent casings...)

If I can't use it as is, is there a fast and easy way to 'supplement' it? (eg...  would some urine increase nitrogen levels?  Piss on it and leave it outside for a couple more weeks??)

They sell "Keeper's Brew".

I wonder what relation they have with "Spore Trading Post".

Does that imply their information is bad ?

>Does that imply their information is bad ?

Depends. The information on different strains of P. cubensis mushrooms can deffinitely be described as bad. And the prices as worse.

This particular piece of information above was originally published at this site:
