There is nothing wrong with thinking about death, fear whether neccessary or not shows your love of life.

I do not fear death more as I have got older, but I definitely think about it increasingly.
Maybe it's not fear maybe its something that can help you now.

Thing is, assisted suicide only qualifies for patients with a terminal illness.  So we might still be screwed if it's not terminal, but we're in an insane amount of pain and a shell of a human being.  Is your Grandpa on some good painkillers at least to lesson the suffering?  And if he is then does it get rid of most of the pain?  If they were getting rid of most of the pain then I might just ride it out.

Yeah that's also something I'm really worried about.  And that might not quality for assisted suicide and even if it did, we wouldn't be able to request it.

I am 32 and I do think about death a bit. I have no idea what happens. I was an atheist for 10 years and still am but mushroom and lsd experiences have got me wondering about life and death in a different way. I think if we do exist in anyway after death I believe all memory of this life would be gone.

It’s the familiarity factor when going deep on mushrooms almost of a place I have been to many times.

Think back.. do you remember what it was like before your dad railed your mom? I think this is what you should expect. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

People use an afterlife type scenario to help cope with life. It's scary to think about dying and it's even scarier to think about leaving behind all that you love. Let it be people, drugs, sex, or even the shroomery.

Time becomes in issue as well. Believe me when I say, the older you get the faster time flys by. I never not once thought this was a true statement until I fell into my 30s. I don't care how young and cool and healthy you are, age will find you. It will poke holes in you slowly and you will begin to leak out time.

I'm getting off subject now.

But yeah. I don't believe in an afterlife and I don't believe in a higher power.

I do want to add one thing. A question that has always bothered me. A statement that has fucked with me for years.

You cannot create nothing out of something. Let's say God is real. Where did god come from? Where did the created come from?

I feared it a lot when I was a small child but mostly other people that I knew dieing

Like when my mom would go out , sometimes it would make me cry as a little kid because I would be nervous if she was coming back

my family would always watch Detroit news and half of them are from there / worked there , maybe hearing those news stories did it

kind of like how a dog can be , I understand them a bit

I would hide go cry my cat would find me and make me feel better

Dont feel that way anymore

Nah. I'm no longer an edglord atheist. Vaguely agnostic. Not gonna pretend I know what's on the other side. Hoping for trees near where I die and something waiting for me afterwards. Nothing fucks with me harder than non existence, even if I'm not there for it.

I too am agnostic.

Honestly, I don't thing there is an afterlife or a new start once dead. It's fucking chaotic out there in the outter spaces. That last statement has nothing to do with anything. Just wanted to let you know.

I think the passage of time is less worrisome when you take the time to fill it with meaningful experiences. People really only care about time when they feel it's being wasted in some way.
