European economies are much more bank centric then ours

People take the 2008 recession to seriously. The US is like 25% of the world's economy. Americans are busy bitching that their standard of living didn't go up enough because of the bad this be being done by the wealthy. It's really fucking pathetic



This is a new one, so I haven't watched this speech, but the way this person lays it out in every other one, the US is geographically destined to be the only nation as preiminent as it is

Except climate change, hurricanes, political uprising, flash floods, droughts, rising sea-levels, rogue asteroid, terrorist attacks, earthquakes, forest fires, electro-magnetic disruptions, diseases, virus, cyber-attacks, nuclear war, AI singularity, resource exhaustion, etc.


But at least any conceivable threat.

Not really existential except volcanos and astroids. It was stupid having so much on the coast anyway. The likely hood of a political uprising is very small, and as far as resources, the US is the most resource secure nation there is. We have enough shale oil that the carriers we stationed in the Persian Gulf have been decreased from two all the time, to one for half the year.

The world needs us more then we need them
