Possible laughing caps? UK mushroom ID needed please!!
    #26144357 -

Hi guys, this is my first ever time mushroom hunting so very inexperienced but found some mushrooms in the woods in the UK that I think closely resemble laughing caps. They were underneath some plants and growing directly from or next to a lot of fallen branches/logs which were covered in moss. They are all very small and so I do not know if they are perhaps newly formed or a different species of mushroom but they have a distinct orange brown spherical cap, a hollow thick stem and no distinct smell just an earthy quality. I've attached some pictures of where they were growing and what the stem cap and gills look like.

Thanks guys much appreciated!

They are not Gymnopilus or anything active, they look like Lactarius or something similar to me

Gymnopilus grows in tight cespitose clusters, these mushrooms are solitary and gregarious. They are also much more orange, and they have a brown ring on the stem. They also have yellow-orange-brown gills, these gills are white-cream coloured.
