Ehhhhhh. This is a stretch. By that time we understood what bacteria were and that they made us sick and that they interact with one another in predictable ways. Not knowing the specific mechanism of action by which penicillin kills bacteria doesn't really map onto have no clue what consciousness is made out of. But I get your point, guys, sometimes we accidentally discover things without understanding totally how we did it. I just don't think it's going to happen with consciousness. And I'm essentially a materialist, I'm not trying to defend woo here. I just don't think it is ever going to happen.

poor countries have the highest birthrates. i doubt they are going to send free sexbots to poor countries.

and besides.. what about women? will they prefer to have a robot partner? if they want a baby they will have to do it the old fashioned way!

We use gene therapy and it's only a theory that genes regulate certain things based on correlations. Consciousness may not have much to do with the brain. The brain could easily be an antenna for consciousness where the entire energy of the universe has something to do with consciousness
