you are unique and special.

especially so while enjoying a walk about on psychedelic and wondering about which line of thought is ego.

that's it. excellent, wonderful immersion in the universe of sensations and ideas washing over each other.
Wonder and joy and so little clingy graspy mental activity.

well done,  do it again and again, it is a huge relief from the everyday unspecial graspy clingy automatic sorting and reacting that comprise the negative aspects of self/ego/life.

This is the best post iv'e seen in awhile :whathesaid:

I can't tell if you knew I was kidding, the phrase is "mull over" not "Maul over." Like as in to mull a wine or steep it in spices. Maul is what a bear does to your face

I spent the greater part of a year trying to make sense of my first level 5 mushroom trip, a lot of which involved posting here, thinking out loud about the experience and it’s implications. I’m a thinker, which means I’m liable to ponder things beyond mortal grasp or beyond the limitations of my own intellect after having the experience of such things.

My “conclusion” so far is it’s just an experience. It’s the type of experience that is whole in itself and self-evident in its immediate nature and qualities. Trying to import that into some kind of personal epistemology feels like a fool’s errand to me. I’ve tried it, because it’s just in me to try it, and while it led me in interesting directions, none of them came close to capturing the enormity or unspeakable nature of the experience.

Thus, at this point I view the psychedelics as “experience over intellect.” We are so feeble and our minds are so fragile. Perhaps their greatest value, in higher doses, is they make the realization of our frailty palpable.

Apprehension or contact with “consensus reality” is always precarious. That’s why society takes anomalous people, or the elderly, the inflicted or gifted so seriously and why we identify and remove them from “the game” of economic competition and the cultural dream. That’s a part of the whole “shamanistic personality” to me...someone who just doesn’t fit. An enigma.

The shaman fills the void left by the homogenization of thought in the consensus reality.
