Apeu. They always grow sideways if they are under other tubs. Very sensitive to light. I havent touched this tub yet. And these Purple latch tubs appear to be working better than the one i had with a notched side. Its going to save a tremendous amount of time not taping holes.

Pasty since these are fruit-at-spawn tubs how are you going about casing them? Top Layer? 100% colonization? Late casing?

Just going to chime in here. I've been putting a top layer. I use 1.5qts right now for the layer using the 66qt in the tek. I read someone else using 2qts.
I've cased at 40% and 100% (few days apart, didn't know about exposed grains). The 100% cased is pinning right now. Looks like a decent pinset. The 40% cased has knots, but not pinned yet. I'll report back.

I've been putting a 1qt top layer on all my 66qt tubs, but I've never cased my regular cubes, only PE at 100%. My pin sets on reg cubes in these tubs have been a bit underwelming. I seen a post where Pasty did a side by side test between case-at-spawn and 100% case, but that was with his old style micropore tape tubs that separated colonization and fruiting conditions.

Well holy shit, these ez dials seem to be one with apeu. I also used the electric knife harvester and it was magical. Generally this variety is so dense it takes me 45 mins to an hour per tub to harvest. It took me 15-20 with electric knife. Still let about 1/4 of the pins mature. Will harvest am.

Do you ever experience blobs with rw? I had a buddy that had aLot of blobs and i wondered if it was moisture content. He didnt do anything different as far as spawn ratio or anything.

I got a lot of blobs my last ms run, I think it’s genetics and a bit of sensitivity to high nute levels when it happens.

Strange ive not had the blobs in rw. But ive seen others have them. But they were massive and easy to harvest!
Here is tub 2. Just like op with no short side holes.
On round 2 of these tubs its performing very well so far compared to the notched side tub i had before. Glad i made the conversion. It is already paying dividends in time! 👍
Id say avoid any tubs with notched sides like this. Ive seen others with great results but for me it kinda made the fruits grow around the edge and nothing in the middle. i had good results after i added more holes on the short sides. But i had to add 3 holes on the long sides and 3 holes on the short sides for it to work properly. Id rather drill less holes with the same results. 20 plus tubs adds up 😂 But then it was a balance of covering a few during colonization. So id rather not do anything. The regular tubs in op are perfect. I just had this extra hole-less tub laying around to try.
Flushes before short side hole adjustment had fairy rings with middle flush missing. This was the only trial worth taking pictures of before hole adjustment.
Flush after. Much better but had some gaps. This is with three side holes added on each short side.
There is a huge noticeable difference in flush already from first two trials.
Pasty, as always

badass pasty!
Ok so two tub to two tub comparison. Yield is similar but i did less work by not taping holes and not adjusting any mp top holes for fruiting. Overall that saves a bunch of time for me on a weekly basis.
In addition, im just comparing these two to my last two regular mp tubs
Tub1
Tub 2
Not too shabby for ms f3
Compared to my last two wg were 7.5 oz and 7.8 oz dry. Which is a clone. Hopefully the apeu clone i have coming will perform even better. These tubs appear to be giving a better overall fae compared to mp tape tubs. The apeu are the toughest in thet department for me. Usually i have to remove top holes immediately at pinning when fruits are 1/2 inch tall. Otherwise, i get alot of mass moisture buildup under the clusters of fruits. The fruits become stringy when that happens. Id say i had a rough 30% less stringy fruits on this run.
I also dont run these with a fan in the room. All tubs use passive fae.
Here is tub trial 3 with ess.

This is very frustrating. My tubs don't seem to come anywhere close to performing like most of the ones I see on here. Seems like very few people are having issues with dryness, but I had lots of matting and no droplets on top.

You getting proper field capacity on the sub?

Check fans, excessive AC or furnace, only use radiant oil heaters if you run a space heater. If you’re region is super arid consider a small humidifier for that room. Proper field capacity and a top layer go a long way. Pics help.
