So I decided to go for a walk to check this nearby forest path if it was a suitable habitat for some Psilocybe semilanceata hunting. I started walking by the side of the road and after just a couple of metres of walking noticed something familiar looking on the ground..
Dinner is served!
The habitat hunt for P. semilanceata was also a success as you can see. Just a walking distance from my house.

Cheers Ajgleskorv! There are some finds reported every now and then, but not too often. Probably not many hunt this species actively and they're easy to miss due to the minute stature. This was the first time for me finding them other place than on my yard, so they became just a little bit less rare for me.

Thanks ST1R! Please do go find it, pretty sure it can be found also in Estonia as it has been reported from the surrounding countries. Good luck! P. fimetaria is also on my to do list, but probably gonna have to leave it for the future excursions.
Anyway, it was very cool to find these the first time some place else than my yard, eventhought it was within a couple of hundred metres from my house. Now I have a better idea about the possible habitats.

Very nice! Wonderful photos, thanks for showing us! I love to see more of this species, too few photos out there.
You have been picking them at the same spot for quite a few years now, right?

Cheers KK! Actually, I've moved twice after my first find in 2014 so this is the third front yard I have found them. So thanks a lot mushroom gods.
I find it very interesting species and I've fallen in love with the odor. I'm still having hard time believing how such a small mushroom can produce such a strong odor. Hopefully I'll find some more and get some more photos. Usually the season has been quite short in my whereabouts, like three weeks and they're gone.

Went for a short evening walk.. Damn, seems to be the year of Pholiotina cyanopus for me and you can bet I've been hoping for this! Didn't have my phone or a container with me, so no in situation photos unfortunately. Should've known better by now, the gods are always watching haha! There's about 50 in that pile.
Left quite a bit of pins and mature ones behind, so hopefully more to come.

Haha yea, that was pretty much like it. I just stood there stunned with my eyes wide open, then my brain sort of exploded. I knew instantly what I had found even without picking them. Just took a little moment for my brain to process it.

I've been collecting these quite a bit since yesterday and I have a collection of approximately 150 specimens now.
Some blue bases of todays finds.
I'm having some focusing issues with my phone, sorry about that. It's currently a late summer heat wave in here. The daily temperatures are around +25 celsius and no signs of rain, but these mushrooms don't seem to mind and they keep fruiting.

Cheers you two!
Definitely been a year for the rarer species and in great numbers. Unfortunately things are slowing down with these. I don't know if it's the weather, which has been like +23-26 celsius during the daytime and +15 celsius during the night or the fact that the season is coming to an end. I've still been able to pick 10-20 specimens everyday and seen some pinning happening, but everything is drying out quickly now due to the heat. The temperatures should drop tomorrow and some rains are expected, but comparing with my observations from the past years I think the season is coming to an end. We'll see about that later this week.
Anyway I'm happy with the ~200 specimen collection and next year I'll be sure to start eyeballing the neighbourhood a bit earlier.
But damn I was lucky those three mushrooms fruited on my yard first, I don't think I would've paid too much attention and started looking for them.

Thanks and sorry about that. I took way more photos, but almost all failed. Sometimes it's hard to get focus on these as they're so small and the photos just come out blurry mess. Anyway, I hope these makes up for it a bit. It isn't over yet.
Some of the meatier caps found on todays walk.
The temperatures dropped under +20 celsius yesterday and it has been raining a bit. I walked past the habitat yesterday and saw only one specimen. Tonight I went for another round and managed to collect 15 more and left some smaller specimens to grow. These mushrooms seem to grow fast!

Interesting how much gravel the habitat have. Don't you find them more often in the grass? Maybe I should look in different places for them...
What's the weird mushroom-cap-like thing in the bottom half of the first photo?

My finds from previous years has been from more grassy and mossy habitats, but these ones seem to love the gravel. It feels so weird seeing them fruiting in this kinda of habitat compared to the earlier finds, but it also gives me an idea for some places to check in the future excursions.
I think the weird mushroom-cap-like thing in the first photo is Crucibulum laeve or some similiar species.

Definitely not over yet, so here's some more of this spam.
Pretty nice haul today. Left quite a bit behind again, so I'll have something to do this weekend.
These mushrooms can be easy to miss due to their size, but when you find them it's not too hard to see the blue bruising on the bulbous base.
Think I need to buy a supporter account at some point, so I can get some more upload space in here. Really annoying to use outside image providers.
