Well folks,    lets preface this with this is not my first experience.
and not my first experience with raw.

well  not raw,  I fry them.  I fry them with salt and pepper and garlic, and  sometimes put them into lasagna.

well....  I packed up  50 Grams to take out for a evening .....  yeh  4 hours ago.

first off,  for whatever reason,  and conversation, we/I decided, not to fry them.  not sure where this though came from. 

So.....  I scarfed  50 grams, of B+ wet mushroom......  with a Mars.  While, my buddy,  figured 2.5 grams  dry would be good.

Firs off let me tell everyone,    DO NOT EAT the fucking things raw.  they taste alright in all manner of solutions,  but DO NOT  scarf.

next....  OMFG  DO NOT EAT,  that flavor will never go away.

5 hours on,  I think .....  I think    this is the sign, ...  Do not eat the product,    until there is enough snow to go snowshoeing.

message to past self,  DO NOT EAT.

30 min hike did me good.  The flavor still haunts me.

Yup, that's like half the reason people dry them. Drying them removes 90% of the mass you would otherwise have to eat.

I'm not against eating a small amount wet, but 50 grams vs 5 grams is a massive difference. Also I find the taste of fresh worse overall.

Sorry you had to go through that, but at least now you know!

I don't think 50g of any raw mushroom would be pleasant. Tea for freshies all the way.

Never tried cooking them though, might have to give that a go. Garlic butter brain melting shrooms.
