Sweet as bro!
What was the habitat? Woodchips? Has anyone actually found them in the woods?

EvilTHelL , if you want more next time , I suggest cutting them, not picking them out of their roots.

cause your leaving part of the mushroom and its mycelium still in the ground, to possibly fruit again this season or next... if the stalk is covered with spores that have dropped, it will quickly make itself back into the ground...

They stillmight not come nback a year later whetrher uyou us scissors or not.

Scissors helps [presaerve the myceliuum for more fruitings during the spawn run. However, oince the mycelia eats the medium up which generally takes two to three years, then they do not return unless the same mulch is reintroduced into the area.

Usually most mulch companies and landscappers use what muclch is currently available. WE have had massive patches of Psilocybe cyanescens yhere disappear due to using shaggy Cedar bark much and paying it over old alder much a few years later. This is common int he PNW since the clear cuts are 90% illegal so alder is not used as much as the cedar for decorative reasons.

Once the nutrients inthe woodchips are used, the shrooms will not return.

However int he months after the first fruitings, many will return if scissors are used to cut the base of the stem form the ground.

However, the used scissors can also create bacteria ont he mycelia form germs int he air.

Cutting also removes the woodchips fromt he stem of the shrooms.

mj

Thats strange - all my patches are created by colonising wood chips from December, introduced to garden bed in Feb and fruited in May/june. I get shit loads of subs from that.
