Hello all!
I wanted to know what is the best dehydrator for shrooms? What’s temperature is optimal? How many hours do they dry for? Is it true heat in the dehydrator reduces potency? This is all new to me. I would appreciate your help! Thanks!

Heat don't do anything noticeable you can fry, grill, boil, and bake your fine just get one you like or can afford don't worry bout the heat. And time to dry is relative to the size and density of fruits just dry until they snap like a cracker put in a air tight container check them in a day or two make sure they are still cracker dry. If they got softer throw em back in for few hrs however real high heat will hurt little over 300 degrees or so can't remember exact melting point of psilocybin but higher than you would subject them to anyway.

All food dehydrators are good for shrooms. Optimal temp for drying shrooms is your dehydrator maximum 24-36h of drying time.. sometimes they feel cracker dry after 10h but they are not and they will go soft again in week... so 24h minimum for average fruits on max temp.. if you got big, dense, thick fruits like PE.. you wanna cut stem on half and do 36-40h cycle on max temp. Dehydrators dont go above 70-75°C.. you would need 3 times that for potency lost.. so no worry
Store them in airtight container with some sillica inside and they are good for years...

Thank you! I guess temperature does not matter. There are so many methods online that it’s making me confused. Thanks again!

Thanks for your reply! So any temperature that does not exceed 300? How do you dry your shrooms?

They are generally all going to work for our purposes.
The heat generated by them will not be enough to degrade the potency even if you leave it running for days on end. They can't be too dry.
I leave this 5 gallon monster running for WELL over 24 hrs OFTEN.
In fact, heat drying them increases potency by better preserving your actives.

MadSeason said: Psilocin has a melting point of 350°F. Heat DOESN'T break it down. Actually, the heat in a dehydrator (140+) helps maintain potency by denaturing enzymes (the reducing agents in this case)
P.S. - When you have properly dried your mush, throw something in your bag to keep it dry. Ya don't want to start losing the potency you worked so hard for because you did SUCH a good job that you can't possibly eat them all any time soon, and they have begun to suck the moisture back into them from the air, therefore degrading over time.

I use 2 box fans and multiple very cheap furnace filters, as few as 2 if im drying small batches and as many as how ever many I can fit in between the box fans. They the shrooms are placed on filters and sandwiched between them and they are bungee corded between the fans. Once dry I place into a 5 gallon bucket with damprid and a computer fan. I can dry pounds this way and I do on the regular.
