Thanks dude, I’ve been picking the spot for a couple of years now and it was like nothing I’ve ever seen before today. So many and poking right out. I don’t usually do location photos but was too magical not too. Here’s another of two up close but if you look at the background you can see all their mates waiting for me...

Yeah that was to you mate they arnt liberty caps unlucky but trial and error.. libs are becoming less common every year since 2012 I think .. damn fungicide the high ups demand be sprayed .. not only that the them nasty chem trails they spread have effected the grounds ph which in turn is making the mycyium suffer you will probably all noticed it isnt just libs that are rare..  common mushrooms like foelesica is becoming hard to spot .. sont worrie though they have stopped spraying and things do seem to be turning back the way they where. But anyone in the UK will agree this is well into the season and most the UK should have thousands now but it's not happening

Thanks for the advice mate, I'll bin them. Do you think the decrease in libs over the years is anything to do with the more extreme weather we are getting now? For example, the past two summers we've seen record breaking temperatures!

Happy hunting everyone!

Plenty of small 1s so I left more than I took

These don't all look like libs to me, especially the ones on the right.

Possible.  Last year was pretty awful.  But we had a very hot summer this year too and this is shaping up to be the best season in a while so hard to draw conclusions really.

We've been lucky with the rain recently and the temperature has come right down. Whereas last year was hot and dry for too long and then we had an early frost out of nowhere if I recall correctly.  Only other thing I could suggest is the shrooms "stored" their growth potential from last year.  I don't know how possible this is (probably not at all) but maybe if the myc didn't expend as much energy producing fruits, it might have spent more time consolidating and is ready to explode this year.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who understands the mushroom growth cycle better than me how feasible this is haha!

Had an absolute gem of a 2 hour picking session there. Perfect conditions. Rain all week, sun all today. Some nice shots below. They were literally everywhere. I could only pick around 1/4 of what I saw. Think I must of got at least 600 although most smallish.  Will post the full results a bit later...

Wow! Awesome photos and find!
I am yet to find anything this good. May I ask what part of the country you are in?
Is there normally cattle/sheet in this field?

Thanks Dude. These ones were growing of really short cut grass which might explain the  stripe. But they are a psilocybe off course. Beautiful specimens and hoping as I picked just before the veil broke they’ll be High concentrate

Our real first find of the year today.  Found roughly 140 in the lakes/central Cumbria but "only" high up in the peaks.  Took all day mind to start finding them!

Anyone else had any finds in the Cumbria area?  We only have one "solid" picking location, would love to hear of any other spots if anyone cares to send me a pm i'll happily keep it secret

I found these guys in west Sussex today growing in the grass by a path going through a forest. When I search liberty caps on google a few images of them pops up but I'm not really sure what they are.
