I was thinking about either heading towards Shropshire hills or Hereford/wales border. Will definitely be worth a try at the back end of the week. Good luck!

Just FYI - at no stage of it's cycle do Semi's ever have gills which are pale in colour, they are always very dark even when dry.
Therefore you can immediately reject several species which may have a somewhat similar bell-like shape if their gills are white, pale grey-ish or yellow.
( - I seem to think the yellow-gilled ones are outright toxic!)

Another good instant clue is the stem - the imposters usually snap off very readily whereas Semi's have a slightly thicker stem which is quite fibrous.

Good luck  :-)

Hey people, I have a good habitat of libs and the rainfall is very nice, but the temperature is all out of whack.
For those of you who have had luck finding liberty caps thus far what temperatures have been experienced day and night?

Hey everyone . I used to be on this forum few years ago and have recently revived my interest in this.. I am from UK.. few years ago I was absolutely fascinated by these mushrooms and I had such a deep desire to find them. One time when I was not actually looking for them I found some in a field while I was taking a break from my delivery driving work , i was sitting in the van and i decided let me walk in this field for few mins and then right there I found them for the first time..

I went back to that place and picked some .. I dried them out and tried a couple of times to take some .. never experienced much

But recently I have become very interested in micro dosing .. I am currently in India and coming back to UK on 1st October..  i will be going out and exploring when I get back ..

Can someone remind me What are the right conditions ? Temp.. rain .. etc

Thanks !

Tl;dr: 5-15°C, rainy, pretty much what we're having right now.  They're out there ready to be found in plenty of places but they'll be springing up more and more over the next couple of weeks.

Best bet in north London green belt might be golf courses tbh.  Feel like there's some decent sized parks around too. Anywhere with land that's basically left alone, ideally with animals grazing (or which have grazed there in the last couple of years).  Maybe see if you can find a livery yard for horses which has footpaths through it?

Hey guys,
Went for a little hunt today and found what I'm pretty sure are libs. Around Leeds in West Yorkshire.

Anyone able to ID these? Shape seems right and the stems are showing some pretty blue bruising. Fingers crossed

Went out today in Berkshire, super dry :frown:

Was expecting better results with the rain but still muggy and dry here

Hey all, good to see weather finally changing in our favour, pisc are from yesterday, we got lucky with the weather as the rain stayed off longer than expected but was having such a good day that when the rain did hit (and it f#@king hit) we stuck waterproofs on and kept on picking  lol

I was out around stanhope way. No libs, plenty of other fungi, just couldn't locate any libs, found a few nice spots to try when it gets cooler. We need cooler night time temps I reckon. And soon hopefully because my microdose stash is running low!

Just let me argue with you on this one. Libs actually can have white colour gills, phenomenon called sterile mushrooms without spores on their gills. Found plenty of them in years and work like usual psilocybin mushroom. Photos below

Went for a very quick 30 min look on my way back from work. Found this 1 lib but couldn't see any others near it. I'm confident in the identification but more worried at why i couldn't find any others near by. Has anyone else ever found literally 1 lib on itself?
