Apparently Snowdonia is FULL of them and as of next week they will fruit in the main parts. It's 20c here so not finding anything.

What I did do is record the location of all the good north facing high hills I found so I know where to go when it rains next week.

It's too mild I think. It's quite a mild morning today and going to get to 22c later apparently. Yesterday was really hot in the day time.

I ate less than a handful of my pickings yesterday evening and got a wild ride. Not all together enjoyable for most of it but a pure magical experience none the less. I feel a strange mix of physical exhaustion and refreshed mind this morning.

These little shrooms sure are potent.

I agree. I had my first dabble of the season yesterday also. Open mouthed in the sunshine. You forget how crackers it all is really. Sublime AND ridiculous.

Dude I did the same the other day and decided to watch Alice in Wonderland lmfao. I had to pause it half way through and just close my eyes for a bit cause it got too intense.

I only ate some stems too. The caps weren't fully dried yet so I just snapped them all of the stalks and ate them, wasn't expecting much thats why I decided to just sit down and watch a movie. An hour later and I'm seeing all kinds of awesome rainbows with my eyes shut.

Kind of a heavy body load which can happen sometimes and I'm not a huge fan of.. it's why I had to pause the movie, looking at it was making me a little nauseous.

Looks like a decent chance of rain for the next week or so - could really be what's needed to get things into full swing!

As much as I've loved this year's summer, all we need now is for a nice drop in temperature and we should be good to go on all fronts.  Good luck all, hope to see some killer hauls :heart:

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, today is the first rains in my area FOR WEEKS, so I am very happy for my grass was on the verge of death and I am hoping this rain rejuvenates my lovely garden, also marks the starting and transition to autumn, and we all know what comes in autumn.
It is quiet possible that remnants of the tropical rainstorm Humberto will moisturise our pastures and fields.For those of us who haven't had the fortune of the mushrooms yet or this year, it would seem the times are upon us, and I couldn't be happier.

Possibly, has it been raining for a few days now? Or frequently over the last week or so? If so then yes, if not then wait for these rains over the next few days, then go out looking, they typically pop up a few days after nice rains and low temps. But that is a brilliant looking habitat for them , so long as conditions are met then definitely. If hypothetically it rains for 5 days in a row or even three then go out there you will have a field day.

My wife and I have had a few hunts around our local area now for Lib Caps. One of which was a pasture where there are often cows grazing. Had absolutely no luck so far :frown:  The ground seemed very dry in all the places we looked and we have had a few days of fairly warm weather. I guess that will effect any fruiting?

We have had plenty of rain today, and it’s forecast for tonight too. Would it be worth going back tomorrow morning now we’ve had a good downpour?

I’ve seen some great hauls in this thread. Congrats to all you hunters... I’m jealous!

I went to one of my spots on Friday for the first time this season, not expecting much but more to have a picnic in the sun and see if the land was ready. I found a small'ish but significant amount of super-sun dried libs. All signs pointed to the land being ready for a good flush with a bit of rain and lower temps. I reckon by next weekend things should be kicking :crazy2: :awedance:

Afternoon all, just read the whole thread through again, thanks for all the comments and pictures, sat in living room looking out of the window and smiling like a Cheshire cat because the skies in Devon at the minute are very dark and full of rain, temp has definitely dropped today too.
looking forward to the next ten days as we have time off and we will be hitting it hard, anyway I hope you all have a good season and looking forward to seeing all of your pics and comments as season kicks into high gear

I'd give it a bit of time mate, if there was nothing at all and the ground was solid, it's unlikely that they'll suddenly spring up after one or two days of heavy rain.

Ideally conditions stay good for at least a week and that'll get them going - weather up and down the country for the next 10 days or so looks foul from moat people's perspective but pretty much perfect for us.  Bit more of a temperature drop would be even better but this should be fine, especially as people have already been finding decent amounts

Thanks for the reply Proton. I think I’ll go there everyday to keep a look out. It’s a great place to walk the dog, so nothing lost. I’ll take your advice, and not expect anything till the conditions are better.
Of course I have no idea if they grow in this field or not. I guess I’ll just have to keep looking in lots of different areas?

No one here would happen to know of, and be willing to share, any good areas in Gloucestershire would they?

Never thought I would be wishing for rain so much!

I was out yesterday afternoon to early evening spotting locations etc and I found some they are just starting to sprout up by the looks of it but they are a small amount and mostly babies you can see a couple of adults I found. Very blue stems though now this mourning and quite thick.
