My first thought is to look up on the hills, nice and early in the morning. I’m in the Gloucestershire area, and I hear they are really common around these parts. So hoping to stumble on a good patch. I won’t hold my breath though!!!

There were a few shrooms around a couple weeks ago but the weather has really heated up again so I doubt any will be up for a little while.

As for cool finds, first is a really well formed and good looking shroom that was actually my first find for this season, and the second pic is just one i picked that is abnormally large.

So all spring, during the rainiest and coldest phases, cold enough that theoretically cyanescens should have been fruiting, but it wasn't in my favour, perhaps my observation skills are not that good, or the mushrooms want me to wait, which is what is indicated by this 21 degree September with no rain (where I live in M.K)and supposedly it's going to frost incredibly early this year, who has had luck and the right weather and where are you approximately? Because where I am libs will not be fruiting maybe ever this year. But maybe that's just the mushrooms telling me I am not ready.

First of all thank you very much for the reply, about the nothing interesting or cool growing here it wasn't totally serious I am just referring to how boring this country can be regarding unique phenomenon, rarely snows, no tornado's, volcano's etc, all my life from childhood I constantly thought about how much more exciting the rest of the world is. Anyway I should really be more patient, weather forecast states thunderstorms being something frequent over the next two weeks where I live however temps will still be at the 20 degree mark, do you think the temps will negate the rains effect and prevent fruiting?
Also do you think Fimetaria would be a good species to try finding? There are many a cow and horse pastures near my location and I (perhaps in a naive manner) believe I could do a solid identification of them have you ever tried psilocybe fimetaria?
