Some guy shot 6 cops the other day with an Assault rifle , some people think the police need our help to keep these weapons out of criminals hands . Is that not a good enough reason ?  You aren’t helping the cops by owning an assault weapon or fighting to make sure the are easily purchased .

The sickest part about the gun argument is that you seem to understand that the people who are shooting shit up are a product of our system, but you are ok with that system being in place just minus the guns. But hey, that's so American to treat the symptoms and not the sickness. :shrug:

I'd definitely be a lot happier if the white nationalist militias didn't have real military hardware and combat training.  Those guys lay low, but they're fucking scary.

What makes you think that it's personal?  That's actually a pretty fair comparison, on more than one level.  They're both manufactured controversies that indulge the same sort of fallacious reasoning in the interest of rationalizing the acting out of selfish fantasies.  And in both cases you end up harming children.

Considering the near historic low homicide rates both in the US and comparable nations, some having enacted strict firearms regulations and others not, yet all experiencing a similar significant decline over the same period, i would have to agree that this controversy is largely manufactured.
