Coir was pretty wet

So, I did Bod's Bucket Tek last night and went to use my coir on some shoe boxes today, and it was definitely too wet. i didn't have any verm around, so I just squeezed each handful until there was nothing really coming out and mixed that in with my grain spawn. I'm wondering if this could potentially mess up the grow? I had read somewhere that someone was successful boiling their coir in a pot full of water and then squeezing it to field capacity. Either way, I'm doing some g2g transfers today, so if it doesn't work out I'll have plenty more spawn to work with while dialing in field capacity. Just wanted to check with you guys and see if I'm doomed or not.
P.S. if you saw my post yesterday about dubtubing, I posted a pic of a jar that looked bacterial. Well, it definitely was. TIL what that smells like. I spawned it to it's own shoe box with extra coir; hopefully it'll still give me some fruits!

So.. Why would using field capacity sub 'doom' you?
you did nothing wrong. In fact, you did what you're supposed to do when substrate is too wet

I noticed that tek makes the coir too wet also.
And I think you should be fine

A coir brick is typically made from two different coconut materials.
1. Coir fibers (large stringy material)
2. Coco pith (small dirt-like material)
The coir fibers are not very absorbent, and kind of act to aerate soil in a traditional application. The coco pith is what absorbs the majority of the water.
So a brick that is more pith than fiber will absorb more water, and vice versa.

A great tidbit that reinforces the idea that you should never fully trust your recipe. ALWAYS manually check field capacity!

Thanks for the advice, guys!
My fear is that even though I squeezed until almost nothing came out is that I couldn't squeeze hard enough to get all the moisture out from the center. My shoe boxes have a ton of condensation atm. I'm not sure if that's normal, but I'm pretty confident that my is more on the "too moist' side of things. If moisture and condensation stay high, would you guys recommend leaving the lids off?

A lot of condensation isn't too abnormal...If it starts pooling it's too wet. If that happens I pour the extra water out of the shoebox, cake inside.
A gentle way to dry them out is to open the box once in a while and shake the condensation off the lid.
