Am still a Bernie fangirl
but spent so much of 2015 and 2016 memeing and supporting him
that it has kind of become discouraging

unfortunately, expecting Biden to win the Democratic Primary
not because he is the most popular or most qualified
but because the DNC has various stupid rules in place where some states require people to be registered Democrats to vote in the primary at all
so Bernie has less capacity for a real general-support surge

if he was presenting some new issues or something, it would give me more fun to ramble about
but, instead, Yang is the one parroting messages about my own area of interest (the implications of advancement of AI and robotics)

Yang has some fairly interesting things to say, but I think his 15 minutes of fame will be over in 30 seconds.

I sent Bernie the $27 he asked for, but lately it doesn't look like he is even going to be Biden's main competitor. I'm guessing Warren.

One or the other is acceptable at this point - the support of all of the progressive-leaning candidates combined does outweigh that of the centrists. Bernie really slayed it in the last debate though - and Biden has said some stupid things on the trail relatively (when doesn't he though) - I wouldn't underestimate this whole thing shifting in a moment... this is a LONG primary cycle this year. Last election at this time of year, very very few people relatively had even HEARD of Bernie. His popularity hadn't begun to truly shine through till what aligns with December/Jan/Feb of next year.

There’s nothing meaningful about any polling this far out from the election. It’s just spectacle to keep us numb and the media companies profitable

Polls are meaningful because polls and donations are how the Democratic party are eliminating candidates from the overcrowded field.

We could all have free open heart surgery at half the price we are currently paying for medical care if Bernie wins.

But our healthcare trust funds babies will not allow that.

This is why I say bernie is the strongest candidate to beat trump in the general. there are lots of people like this who will only vote dem if it feels like a non establishment candidate. sanders may be a career politician but he gives the vibe of being different from the rest, as trump did. biden will not be able to sufficiently mobilize dem voters
