Shrooms to treat Cluster Headaches
    #26118242 -

This seemed like the best forum to post in, if not please let me know. I have had cluster headaches for 30 years. For those that don't know they are extremely painful and debilitating and treatment options are spotty at best. Some have found that psilocybin has helped "cure" their headaches. It is called cluster busting...there is a whole website, group, forum dedicated to it. Anyway that is what leads me to post here at shroomery.org. I have zero interest in recreational usage...my usage is only medicinal. I have used RC seeds to extract the LSA for years, but the RC seeds just don't seem to be helping any longer. I looked into growing shrooms...I am in California and apparently no one will ship spores here...? I understand Oakland is looking to decriminalize psilocybin. That would be awesome, but I think we are a far way from it getting to the point of dispensaries like we have now with Marijuana. I have found a few web shops that will ship truffles to the US, but I am defintely afraid of the legal consequences here so very apprehensive. If anyone can help point me in a direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey, sorry to hear you have to deal with cluster headaches. I've heard horror stories.

I'd be weary of getting truffles shipped in, there are new regulations and higher rates of international packages being checked due to fentanyl.

I haven't read any new research, but I remember reading a lot about LSD helping cluster headaches too. Can't give a source, but there are websites where you can buy analogs of LSD (such as 1p-LSD) that would likely have the same benefit, and ship much more discreetly than truffles and from less sketchy countries. Pretty low risk getting some unperforated white paper shipped to you from cananda, but obviously not completely without risk.

There are ways to still get spores, like having an out of state friend hook you up by being a mail drop, renting a PO box in a different state, getting them mailed to your hotel on a vacation, etc.

Another option if you can't grow would be to go hunt for some. It can be fun, and depending on how often you get the headaches, one find could last a pretty long time. If you ever go that route, just make sure to post any finds on here to verify they're psilocybin and safe.

Good luck on your search. So foolish (inhumane, even) that it's so difficult to get our hands on a natural, safe medicine.

Thanks feevers for all the info. Very much appreciated! Yeah its bad enough having to deal with cluster headaches and the intense pain...then to find out one of the best remedies is a schedule I drug...definitely like a cruel joke.

Have you tried high volume oxygen treatment?  I suffered from cluster headaches for approximately 15 years.  My cycles would start every year or two and last for a couple months.  I tried everything known at this time to help. I happened to run across a study being performed at U of Scranton (PA), which was odd considering its a small school without a medical or pharmaceutical program, where they were studying the effects of high volume compressed oxygen.  I happened to be suffering a cycle that was occurring at 2:36 AM that was insufferably longer in duration of almost 2 hours.  One night my wife took me to a 24 hour quick care clinic that had just opened.  Well they were not busy and after they whacked me with a good does of narcotics to reduce the suffering we started discussing this alternative treatment.  The doctor, who had to be fresh out of medical school, brought their laptop in the room and we did some joint research.  She basically said, "what the hell, i'm writing you a script for an oxygen tank and a high flow regulator".  Note, the high flow regulator is key here as you don't want the standard low flow oxygen regulator typically used in hospitals and by elderly folks.  You want a pure, continuous blast of 100% oxygen.
Well I got the tank and regulator the following morning and had it in the living room.  As you probably know, during a cluster headache the sensation of cold makes it much more tolerable.  Well, at 2:36 AM, like clockwork, I was awaken by the intense piano wire tension behind my right eye.  I immediately took the oxygen tank and mask out to my wifes car in the garage in the middle of winter where it was nice and cold.  I laid down in the backseat and put the mask on and opened the valve.  The next thing I know, it is AM and I wake up freezing.  I am pissed of course because the oxygen tank is now empty and I don't have it for that next night, however I am grateful that the headache was literally aborted within minutes.  I still had the "hangover" behind my eye and in my head.  So I went to bed the following night anticipating being woken up at 2:36 AM by an excruciating headache with no recourse due to the tank being empty.  Imagine my surprise when I woke up the following morning without having been woken up in middle of the night with a cluster headache!  So not only did the oxygen therapy abort the current headache the night before, but it also prevented another ensuing occurrence.  This was awesome, however I had no clue how awesome it truly was given that as of today, it has been 8 years since I had that last cluster headache.  It was a true miracle for which I am extremely grateful.  I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone with cluster headaches speak with their doctor about giving this a go.  There is likely much more research out there on this therapy today to review with your medical provider.

Melatonin is a tryptamine similar in structure to psilocybin, is available over the counter, and also happens to aid with cluster headaches. Something to look into if you haven't. There has been studies that have linked low melatonin levels with cluster headache frequency in people, and it's likely that some of the effects mushrooms have on reducing headaches like this can also be found in melatonin.

I'd be weary shipping truffles as well like Feevers said. You are better off growing mushrooms yourself and keeping the grow to yourself and yourself only if that's the route you wish to take.
