Ideas criticisms welcome lo to off grid farm lay out.
    #26117728 -

For now I have an 8x8 poly wrapped lab, 8x7 colonization,8x7 grow house poly wrapped. All built out of recycled pallets and roofing. I’m planning to build a second room for fruiting lions mane and a half size room for reishi and turkey tails also in time an larger incubation space. I’m running a bulk atmospheric sterilizer with the boiler outside the lab and the barrel inside with the exhaust steaming back outside. I am hand watering the grow room with a fine misting nozzle. I will be cultivating on local sawdust and rice bran. With back up fuel pellets for the rare chance can’t get sawdust. Using unicorn XLSa bags. I have a generator for running the hepa cabinet. And solar for running fans where needed. I live in a modest climate that never really drops below 68f and goes above 84f at the peak of summer. In the shade of the rooms it is nice and cool keeping a pretty consistent 72f. Any tips or considerations welcome!

Sounds sick. I'm working towards something close to what your'e describing. Still finishing my designs for poly wrapped work/fruiting rooms like youre describing.... but the pallets. Do they carry contams?... did you do anything to treat them... or is it a non issue? Just curious. I'm also wondering if you have wood exposed INSIDE your fruiting and colonization rooms. I've been trying to design everything so all the exposed wood is outside the poly to keep the wood from absorbing bacteria/contams/spores. but maybe some people think this is too paranoid?

Thanks!

Hopefully these pics help a little, you have to cut the pallets down to size if using pallets for the floor. I used the heavy duty pallets with4x4 blocks in the corners for the floor, then the lightweight pallets for the walls. On top of first row of pallets 2x4s are screwed iin to hold everything togeather then again on the top before putting rafters. I believe I used 13-15 2x4 for one room. So that’s about 45 $$. The 2x4 on long sides hold the short ends and the long sides. Hope this helps.
