Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing * 1
    #26117680 -

50 years.
We’ve made some strides since then, but for the most part it seems we’ve abandoned the stars.
For better or for worse.

How do you feel again humanity becoming a spacefaring race?

Personally I can’t imagine anything more terrifying seeing how we continue to treat each other and our planet.
I hope a plague takes us all before we are ever capable of escaping this rock and spreading our cancer into the stars.

But that’s not to say the idea of colonization isn’t enticing.

Much in the way I say I can’t think of anything more terrifying, and can’t hardly think of anything more exciting either.

I just hope when the time comes, we as a race will we ready for the responsibility.

Humanity will claim the heavens eventually! Once China gets a moonbase they will claim the solar system!

I watched a show the other night about it. Felt really exciting. Can only imagine what people felt at the time imagining where we would be in 50 years. In all honesty has much changed? You could point to the internet but the same applies we've hardly had a new era of enlightenment because of it. If anything a lot of people are becoming more polarised and narrow minded as they reinforce their beliefs. The next thing is AI/robotics. Just imagine a new age of leisure - life will be amazing. We'll see

I thought there were NASA plans to send a man to Mars in the relative near future? Like in the 2030's?

Venus always fascinated me as a kid because it looks the most earth like of all the planets in our solar system

but isn't it like the most inhospitable place in the solar system?

looks can be so deceiving

Pretty crazy that the US stepped on the moon so many years ago.

Im excited for Space Travel again. And its gearing up at just the right time for 2024: https://www.engadget.com/2019/07/19/nasa-artemis-explainer-apollo-missions/

Curious what kinds of discoveries they will find :strokebeard:

Sure, humans can be straight-up assholes to each other, but exploration is still a very much positive human trait in my opinion.

SARA, how do you feel about the first woman landing on the Moon? Inspiring?

Ya, the surface of Venus is fucked

I doubt we’d ever be able to so much land on it.

We’ll leave that to the protomolecule.

Not really,

In the context of something as large as space, we are all human, nothing more.

Well I think its pretty cool, a first for Humanity! Go Women Go!

NASA wants to commercialize the Moon. Imagine booking a ticket to fly to the Moon. How wild would that be?
