Werdly wiggly morphology on agar
    #26115612 - 07/18/19 08:55 AM (5 years, 5 months ago)

Check these plates out.

Most of my mycelium looks great.  These weird wiggles keep cropping up in this particular lineage (B+) tho.  Any thoughts on why?

Bacterial colony around perimeter of the plate is my thought. Not sure.

Yeah, and I work in labs.  I've taught micro.  I ain't no slouch when it comes to aseptic technique.

I should probably just grow these guys out and see how they fruit.

Super controlled environment.  Home lab/clean(ish) room, constant temperature.  Five plates out of about 25 of that line, that generation look weird.  Each generation had some weird plates but I'm not tracking which transfer came from which plate.  That would drive me bonkers.

I have six other lines going right now and none of them have this odd morphology.

Thanks! I've been a lurker forever, and I really like this group of humans.  It's great to be around people who value knowledge and share it freely.
