Why or why not?

And if you made a Reparation Bill, in what way would it benefit African Americans? Would it only support African Americans with slave-ancestry?

I don't know.  It seems putting more than a very bland education system and harsh prison system into a society would be a good thing.

Thing is the most extreme black doesn't seem to want much to do with white culture other than create their own subculture.  The people that would benefit the most would just further divide culture.

It's not as if every black person would suddenly be rich.  Those that can progress themselves seem to do well with or without reparations.

How about not bankrupting black communities.  Not pulling out their industry centers, failing their neighborhoods and children.

No.  African Americans aren't the only group of people to have a hard go-at things in America.  If they were to get reparations, they should have to wait in line behind Native Americans, then the Mexicans who lost their land when the States took Texas et. al, then A.A's, followed by the Irish/Italians/Polish.  Where does it end?  Who pays for it?  Who loses out on tax dollars at the benefit of the receivers of reparations? 

Could they spend the money any way they want?  If not, what would be the limitations.



Even if i did support the idea, there are still too many factors involved for it to be an efficient or equitable system of distribution.

No.  Reparations are a divisive issue and a slippery slope, as others have touched on.  I prefer to simply make society more equitable so that folks are less generally bitter about past wrongs and can make moves on shit that is important to everyone.

I guess Im the only lone wolf that supports it. I do agree with the Native Americans, they should get Reparations too. At least the Natives got some land thats theres out of the whole ordeal (could be better obviously), the Black community literally got nothing. Poverty and no land ownership.

I would support reparations for anyone who actually survived slavery, but I'm confident that those folk are all long dead.  Today, that same money would be better spent on infusing African-American communities with money for better education and economic revitalization.

Reparations are a scam, its all about 40 acres and a mule.

If you give a disenfranchised people money as a compensation, that money will be in the pockets of the usual fatcats in the blink of an eye without the disenfranchised group having had much benefit from it. Then the majority says "Ok shuddup now, you were compensated."

Free money? Yeah we all want free money.
Its useless though.

What I believe would be the best possible solution is a partial transfer of power and an enabling of a culture of holding power, to emerge in the disenfranchised group.

Systematically enabling said group to develop towards a more robust socioeconomic presence.

Money is toiletpaper. The name of the game is POWER. Power steadily generates further income and factual improvement of the involved family through the generations. A handout would park almost all benefit in the first generation yet rapidly diminish in the generations thereafter.

Consider society a field of turnips and potatoes. Historically, the potatoes have been watered and fertilized while this was not the case for the turnips. The potato crop is bountiful but the turnip crop is anemic. You fix this by watering and fertilizing the turnips like you do the potatoes, after an initial gift of extra fert to make the p[atch recover.

STRUCTURALLY INVEST IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY DEVELOPING ITSELF.

A single handout of money is an insult and ineffective, even if its a million dollars per person.

A lot of that 'hard go at things' was akin tomeconomic slavery.  Not much better than african slave trade.  That was outright cruel.  Very very harsh.
