Creative way to remove fence posts 2

SO I had these huge old fence posts I had to get out made from old telephone pole sections. Couldn't afford to rent a machine to pull them so I got creative with a couple car jacks and sections of 2x6.

Great! I might try it soon with a fence I need to replace.

if the wood is no good, just cut them at the base. way easier. but that looks salvageable, possibly.
for t-posts, a pipe wrench and a solid 2x6 works perfectly. 2x4 can usually cut it, but they will break if not careful on real deep t-posts.

Thats bad ass. So you extracted them out using car jacks and 2x6's nailed to the post itself?
How long did it take to do it?

Tulipslave, some I did just cut. Unfortunately 3 of them were in the same spots for the new fence posts so I had to pull them.
Thanks Logicalchaos, took about 40 minutes per post. The ground was super dry so sometimes I'd only be able jack it up like 6 inches before getting a hose in to spray it down and loosen the soil

Do you mind elaborating on the t posts?

so, the brown is the ground. the red arrow is the pipe-wrench. pipe wrench faces away from you (place it between the nubs, under/aginst the upper of the two nubs)
tighten the wrench so that it won't slip. this may entail having to twist the wrench ever-so-slightly to ensure a solid grip/catch.
you want to place the board on the narrow end (2" end), not the wide end, against the pipe-wrench.
as you lift the post (especially with 8' and 10' t-posts), you will most likely have to re-set the pipe wrench back down lower. you may also have to play with the length of board sticking out on the far end. the board will sometimes slip off the rounded "head" of the pipe-wrench, so make sure the fit is as even/level as possible and tight.
some posts just won't come out, especially if they are driven into rock/serious hardpan and/or are severely bent at the bottom.
a lot of the lifting/leverage process is feel, and what might work on one post may not work on another. again, make sure the board(s) are sound and not knotty or cracking. i've broken a number of 2x4's after lifting a number of posts; the strain is just too much for them even if starting with a totally sound board. 2x6's are the way to go.
i think that's it, but it's way easier to show in person than explain by text.

Thanks for the description!
Has anyone tried the strap method for removing rebar? I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow because I don't have vice grips here and seems like it will work ell.

thankfully, i haven't had to deal with hard-to-pull rebar. are you trying to salvage it for re-use or just get it out? rebar is fairly easy to turn in circles by pulling it in different directions and opening up the ground, but that's in ideal situations with lots of it above-ground.

Yeah, I've already tried circling it around to widen the whole, while leaving a hose on it to soften up the ground. No Luck. It's pretty deep and unfortunately the ground is really friggin hard right now. I might just cut them off it the strap thing doesn't work.

without vice-grips, i can't come up with any ideas. basically you need the grips and a long bar to get leverage to turn/twist, kind of like adding a piece of piping onto a grip-hoist (giant come-along) to gain leverage.

Follow-up on the fence. Working in direct sun, in 90 degree heat, it was a beast but 12 hour fence! (Well, still need to plumb some of the posts and do the gate, but the hard work is over
