I don't know why when there is a whole lot of truth to that. The Democrats were founded by a slave owner. The Democrats owned all the slaves. The Democrats fought the bloodiest war in American history to keep slavery. The Democrats, for another hundred years after the Civil War, still treated blacks like slaves, and shut them out of civil society and the economy as much as possible. And that is why the average white household is worth more than $100k, and why the average black household is worth less than $10k.

And before you tell me they changed, lol, or even switched, lolol, note that they have done absolutely nothing in the way of reparations. They won't even own up to their awful past.

Sorry, you can't have your own facts. The Democrat party was founded by a slave owner in 1804. The Republican party was founded by an abolitionist in 1854. 7 years later, the first Republican president freed the slaves, and the Republicans sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives to get rid of slavery, while the Democrats sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives to keep slavery. Not so much as an apology since.

FDR and LBJ were documented racists, hate to break it to you. Not just racists, but 2 of the most racist Presidents. For example, FDR named a Klansman to the Supreme Court, and refused to meet with Jesse Owens. Oh, and the whole "throw the Japanese into concentration camps because they're Japanese" thing. LBJ was a Texas Democrat in the 60s, and the stories of his racism are legion. Voted against poll tax repeal, voted against anti-lynching laws. "Negroes” are “getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness…". And of course the Great Society was a way to get those n-words to vote Democrat for the next 200 years.

They were out and proud racists through the 60s. (And on, just switched targets.) Exalted Cyclops And Democrat Senator Robert Byrd-KKK, was a respected Democrat until the day he died, spewing the n-word.

There were 3 major pieces of civil rights legislation in the 60s: '60, '64, '68. The same percent of democrats voted for each one, so no real evolution of thought in matters pertaining to race.

They voted 60% for each time. The Republicans voted 80% for each time.

How's that for a half-truth?

I think native Americans are exempt from some types of taxes, at least on reservations, which is land that has some special status. Agreements between native tribes and the government are treaties, which is a term generally reserved for contracts between nations.
