Take the poll and find out that you're a libertarian. :smirk:

Well, I'll be damned. Last time I took that, I was right on the left/libertarian border, all the way at the edge. Now, I'm one space into left-liberal.

I said no to repealing the minimum wage, repealing all taxes, and eliminating all government foreign aid, yes to everything else.

General question. By borders, do they mean national borders or state borders?

My response to all of the questions is "smash the system". What does that make me?

I advocate self-government for personal issues, and Gov't intervention in economic issues, making me a "left liberal", according to the site. That's interesting, though, as I alway thought I was more a centrist.

Either Libertarian or terrorist.

So you want to destroy the government?

Does that include getting rid of welfare, socialized medicine, Minnimum wage, farm subsidies, etc...?

I seem to be a left-liberal too. Maybe I should take this test when I'm not wasted and can actually think about it some more

Your Personal Self-Government Score is 50%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 50%.

Scores falling on the centrist border are counted as centrist.

****

Every single one of these tests puts me dead center in the middle. I have taken 4 or 5 of them and I'm always at 0,0.
I would agree with that as I believe in a perfect balance between freedom and authority, but in the real world that puts me on the right. Prob. the John McCain right, but by being a centrist I end up being a conservative.

Sorry libertarians.

I'm surprised to see we are so close. The only question I voted no on was this one......
"People should be free to come and go across borders; to live and work where they choose."

and I only voted no on that because I don't believe people should be allowed to cross the border at will into this country.

I was a bit put off by the "end taxes" question. I don't want to end all taxes, but I think that the land value tax should be the only tax. But I put yes anyway.

I voted the same way. Until the welfare state is dismantled and the governments stop giving handouts to whoever crosses the border and squeezes out an infant on American soil, I cannot support open borders.

To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

While I see your reasoning, I'm not sure I would ever support open borders.

Unless everyone suddenly becomes..... "nice".

As for the "squeezing", merely being born in this country should not automatically make you a citizen. Unless of course one or both of the parents are already citizens.

Not by America's standards. I dare you to find even one Senator or Representative in the U.S. who supports repealing minimum wage.
