They are all over there. Slightly less, but if you know where to look that's prime territory, just learn the weather patterns and do a grid pattern under the best conditions. They do seem to be getting less and less in Florida relative to a decade ago in my opinion.

Psilocybe cubensis actually means Bald head from cuba.
Psilo=bald cybe= head
Cubensis= being from Cuba.

My field was absolutely flooded with paneolus the other day. Only 1 patch of smaller cubensis were found, but I even found an interesting rather sporeless cubensis specimen that I hope to clone. I don’t have a photo of it, but the gills were rather white with the opened veil having only a small amount of color on it, it was only probably a half inch tall.

Not much for me today, but it is the first cubes I have found, and almost missed as they were buried deep. Over grown vegetation making it much harder to spot than before, plus it was much drier than I would have thought

I haven’t found as many as last year, but last year I didn’t find as many pans as I did this year.

For me it just didnt really start until a little later this year, but if I look at the first photos I took last year the dates are almost the same as this year when it started getting good.

Buy Gallon Mason jars instead of quart jars for storage or use an old pickle jar cleaned with vinegar.
Don't let flooded areas stop you, hunt the high spots, there will be something there unless it literally looks like a lake.

I can see it now, Hulk Hogan and Randy "macho man" Savage holding up fat clusters of cubensis saying that.

Cyan group and cubensis side by side
Some of the best finds from today -

Hope you all have been stumbling upon some huge patches lately!
