Froze cubes and currently fan drying them
    #26100600 -

Due to reasons I had to harvest my cubes 3 days ago but wasn't able to set them to dry until today, having stored them in the freezer in a zip lock bag. They are currently being fan dried.

Can anyone tell me how much potency loss can I expect?

They're going to be all nasty. And no one here is Nostradamus
Also, fan drying is a poor method for locking in potency as well

Hello!

    That sucks!

1) Make tea. Now. lol
2) QUICK dry, dehydrator / infront of dehumidifier / oven set well below 212F. Start this now, aiming to be able to dry enough of it before it turns to soggy mush.... again I have doubts on this working.
3) ???

Really though I see high risk to anything other than brewing tea right now. If your willing to experiment.. Please be sure to follow up with details as I'm pretty intrigued to see the outcome. If only we had a control to compare to, I would be fascinated with that test if only we could do it with a control.

I see fan drying as a recipe for disaster. I'm in the minority in the amount of faith I put into fan drying fresh harvested fruits, but theres no way I can advocate fan drying for frozen fruits in any scenario, even if you live in a desert I see high risk of total loss.

Not home atm and won't be able to get back for a few hours. I guess we will see what happens to them after 8 hours of being fan dried. I'll expect the worst I suppose

Were they still at all potent? I won't mind if they are goop, or even if they are only half as effective. But I do hope it's not a 100% loss

I froze a fresh one once, looked so greasy after thawing I wanted nothing to do with it.  0/10 do not recommend.

I made a presumption, and did not speak literally when i said "total loss". Given your statement, I think you'll still be just fine!

Expect goop though. Without heat the psychoactive chemicals won't be imparted into the water seeping out, so as long as you get the physical goop up then you should be fine. Still 100% recommending Tea ASAP though.

Can you recommend a good write up on proper tea method?

Also, should I still make the tea if by the time I get there my mush is nice and crispy?

If fully dry upon your arrival then its back to a matter of personal preference. Making tea is so easy and spoken of a lot here. No tek to follow really just a few bullet points I've picked up from those here and have found to be independently verified through my own experience.

What you want to extract into the tea is water soluble at boiling temperatures, but cannot be turned into a gaseous state or aka burn off / out of the tea at those temperatures ... so OVER cooking is literally not possible. I break up or grind up the fruits if I feel like it, but sometimes I chuck them in whole. Never noticed a diff, never heard of a diff.

Boil, fully submerged (though I must confess I never tested this NOT fully submerged), for about 15 minutes as a rule of thumb, then add in any tea or flavors you want and steep those as you would normally. As long as you dont cook off all the water then you're good to go.

Honestly, your probably fine after just a few minutes... but most of us prefer to say eff it and boil for longer just to be sure. Some folks here have accounted to boiling for well over an hour and not finding any measurable difference.

This can also be verified by saving the physical fruit material and eating it later as a controlled test. I've done this several times, testing from a 10 min to 40 min boil. I then wait at LEAST 7-10 days or so from any last dosing I took, then eat the leftover fruit from the tea process. I have yet to feel any effects and I've tested this about half a dozen times over many years.

Anyway. Short version is this, you cant boil too long, but to play it safe aim for about 15-20 minutes for good measure. Then turn off heat, strain out fruit material, and add any flavors you would like.

I often make weak tea and turn it into ice cubes for easy micro dosing. Another tip, you can leave the heat on for longer if you wish to 'reduce' or remove more water, thereby concentrating the solution.

    Enjoy!

Well here's how they looked after about 9 hours of being fan dried. Still a tiny bit of moisture left but overall pretty dry

IDK if making tea is still an option with those, but that's what I've usually done with fruits I have been unable to dry immediately. The tea freezes very well and is great for bringing along on camping trips
