Central Alberta, Canada, found yesterday.
Spore print white. Found on grass next to mixed aspen/confers. No universal veil that I could see, there were two close together. It has yellowed somewhat since being picked. Cap can be peeled.
I don't *think* its an amanita but I'm not sure, and its in an area where a lot of people (with varying levels of experience picking) pick agaricus to eat, so I'd like to get an ID.

Compare with Leucoagaricus leucothites. Appears to be quite small for the species though, so I'm not sure. Were there bigger ones around?

No, just the two, about equal size. I agree that it seems small. Cap seems less bulbous than with L. leucothites but not too far outside the kind of variation you might expect and otherwise it's quite close.
