Lsd and Elavil (Amitriptyline - tricyclic antidepressant) interactions?

Not sure if this is an appropriate board but I'll ask anyways...So I'm planning on going to see mesamerica(super trippy music/3d visual art fractal kaleidoscopic visuals in the planetarium room) on july 27 and want to ingest around 200mcg and take a puff or two of some blue dream.

But here's the issue: I just came off a pretty hefty habit of kratom and have been prescribed Elavil which is a tricyclic antidepressant. Works both as an ssri snd snri. Works great for me actually and 100mg is still a relatively a low dose. But now I want to quit and focus on my usual method of growing mushrooms theraputically and lsd occasionally for fun things like this.

Now if I maintain on my 100mg dose of Elavil and try to trip what would happen? I've heard ssris kinda negate the effects a bit but I've heard it can strengthen tricyclics too. I don't know! I want to stay on my Elavil while I go through kratom paws but also want my mind right for when I do ingest lsd and smoke for the first time in like 3 months.

Should I do a rapid taper all the way to zero or 25mg to play it safe? I don't mind my effects being potentiated but if depletes them or causes seretonin syndrome, then we has cause for concern. The half life is about 20 hours for Elavil. I'm kind of in a pickle because it's helping my kratom PAWs, but I want off it to self medicate with my mushrooms and meditation as that just works best for me personally.

I could maybe drop down 25mg each week and skip the dose the day before my trip if you guys think it's necessary? Thoughts? Advice?? Thanks!

I'm sure people will have opposing opinions, but I was on Amitriptyline for about 2 months when I was 17 or so, while the docs where playing lab rat with me trying to find a combination and dosage that worked for me. I had my first lsd trip a year earlier. So I'm comparing to that experience, nut when I got ahold of more ( it literally flooded the streets at this time) I took two blotters and had very adverse effects. I got shakey, I couldnt stand up I was barely tripping at all, almost no visuals, but very lethargic. It was a awful experience. A few weeks later I quit taking it. The thing is my friends bought from the same sheet and all had amazing experiences. I bought a 20 strip( for 60 bucks lol), and decided to take 2 more about 1.5 months later during a thunderstorm. It was as amazing as it gets. Take it for what you will. I dont suggest mixing psych meds with such  a powerful mind altering drug.

Tapering it is then. I have enough time to get down to 25mg without withdrawals. Besides I'd like to stay off of it so I can enjoy my mushroom grow too. They help me more but I needed my Elavil when I came off of kratom

This was like 20 years ago, so I could be wrong, but I think I was taking 150mg, and then they upped my dose to 50mg making my dose 200mg at the time of lsd. I still side with caution. Never make a decision based off of a post I make in regards to what you do with your own body. I'm merely telling a story from my childhood that was similar to your situation. Have a good one man!
