I have a question about the film The Blob(1958)

Maybe y'all can clear this up for me.  Okay, so i have seen what i thought was The Blob several times in my youth.  I remember there being 2 older blob movies that were made prior to the 1988 remake.  Yes, there's The Blob(1958) and Beware! The Blob(1972).  However, these movies were both done in color and i damn well know that i have seen one ov the blob movies in B&W, and i'm certain that it was the one with Steve Mcqueen in it(1958).  There is no questioning my memory for this as i clearly remember the blob being in B&W and thinking how much better the impact ov it would be if the mass were displayed in color.  I'm left with 3 ideas for this that i can think ov. 

1. For some reason, this movie displayed as B&W on the TV i would have watched it on, even if it was a color TV made in the 90s.
2. There was a B&W version released that tv stations played occasionally. 
3. This is a mandela effect and i experienced a timeline wherein 1958's The Blob was shot in B&W.  As some will know, the mandela effect is a topic ov interest to me and there are some examples wherein i have complete faith that the reality has changed.

What say you people who have seen this awesome and iconic film?

I definitely remember seeing a b/w Blob. I recall it seeming very old though, like maybe older than '58. Beyond that I can't recall anything.

Thanks for your comments.  I remember the entire movie being in B&W EastBayRay, not just still photos.  Looking at this list ov blob films( https://monstermoviemusic.blogspot.com/2013/05/i-was-teenage-blob-look-at-blob-movies.html ), i am still unconvinced that it was an entirely different movie that i saw.  The closest candidate would be Space Master X-7(also from 1958), which is a B&W blob-like flick, but the blob is called "blood rust" and from what i understand is not seen very often in the movie.  That blob shown in the still shot also looks different from the one i remember.

There is certainly Mandela Effect potential here.  I do'nt doubt that many people remember the Mcqueen blob movie being in B&W.  Mcqueen is my uncle's favorite actor and as such his work left a distinct impression on me growing up.

Yep. Black and White. I remember watching a few minutes of it when I was younger.
