A thinking Monkey
    #26091390 -

What are your thoughts on the idea that Technology, Biology & Language are all evolving?
Possibly simultaneously?

I'm not sure if Terence McKenna ever came up with a theory similar to this,
But it may just be an idea..

Thoughts?

Urrrr... yes?

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

Well language definitely evolves with technology.  Whether we’re ultimately evolving biologically  in unison with the other two I’m not sure.

Technology is evolving like crazy. We've gone in some individuals' lifetimes from the horse-drawn carriage to cell phones. And it's accelerating all the time. Smart phones as we know them have been on the market for less than ten years. In twenty years, what happens now in five years will happen in one.

Language evolves too, though not as radically as technology. Look at Shakespeare's language compared to ours. If you look at a book or newspaper from fifty years ago you'll notice a big difference even in that short time span. But then, perhaps language is largely de-volving.

Biologically, some people will tell you genetic evolution is still happening, but I have to insist it's relatively incoherent and feeble at this point. On such short time-scales, and in such unnatural conditions, natural selection just doesn't work like it used to.

I think the biggest evolution comes through cultural evolution, which itself includes both technology and language. The cultural sphere is where most of the change happens, and much more quickly than with biological evolution. That's the major driver.

yes density and culture are making new paradigms - technology is an offshoot, as is medical intervention. Nano tech, micromachines, and coordinated flight control extending on flying UBER Fleets will alter medical tech, security, and access to commodities.

we just need a bit of an adjustment from growth oriented capitalism towards collective enrichment so that the environmental cleanup can be worked into the totality of geo-social activities.

Everything is nature, or nature IS everything you see. Or at least everything comes from the same place around us, and inside us - including all of "you".

It is all there is, and it's all from the same origin, whatever it may be.

The question can be 'how much conscious control do we have over it?' imo.

And if so, what would the intention of this 'evolution' be.

I think our ideas/concepts of "man" and "nature" or perhaps, "technology"; "man"; "nature" and even "language" being regarded as fundamentally "separate" occurrences within existence are going to be brought under strict re-evaluation.

Where are we going? Who's pulling the strings?

A lot of our paranoia however, seems to be something similar to how we thought the world was going to end in the year 2000, or that we'll have a sky full of flying cars, etc.

I believe one day in our North American culture and hopefully in our world culture, there will be a new founding institution, "The Science of Consciousness".
From this foundation, much of the human sanity will be restored, and it will be done by all sorts such as Historians, Scientists, Astrologists, Religious Leaders. The world will come together so we can figure out WHAT IS TRUE & WHAT IS UNTRUE.
Because once we use reason and the totality of the human scientific method, which is logic, reason & evidence, and love, we can then decide what to do with the means we have at hand today, for the future of this (to date) tinfoil hat earth.
But even if evidence cannot be shown as confluent, we must have the patience and compassion to understand what and where the evidence is, as presented, to then make collective conclusions.
This idea/belief isn't some new laissez faire idea, where the appropriate authorities of the world- relative to this new Science of Consciousness foundation (A.k.a ideally an institution in the United States)- get together and just sing kum bah yah, hold hands, and dance.

I would suggest based on word of mouth and the vitality of this concept, that if we don't implement this new foundation soon enough, we will probably be heading into extinction via human nature/behaviour.

Currently I think the best course of action would be to do nothing.

Perhaps an important thing would be to lose our 'god' concept altogether, or at least seriously consider what 'control' is in relation to wanting to play 'god'.

Our idea of what 'intelligence' is must also come under question.

Does the world need 'saving' in the first place? Or is this a projection of our own delusions?

We also need to get over our fear of death as a species, imo.

It might be that through our fear of 'the future' we are in fact creating more problems by continuously inventing new things to counter other things.

Perhaps, man would go crazy if he realized the whole world continues without him. Or that his dreams are purposeless, or altogether meaningless.

Peace and happiness is the only sane thing do to in this life imo, or perhaps in any possible life.

However, I believe people are starry eyed and want life to be like a sci-fi, drama, or action movie.

What would happen if the whole human race kept completely still and silent for a day?

Some might think we'll explode, maybe.

Perhaps we are moving to a ever more sustainable future. At least this is my hope.

Our suffering will force us to seek healing. I doubt we'll kill ourselves though. And if we do then the fear of death is the problem currently, not death in itself. But that being said, 'death' is 'life'. It's the same thing.

So maybe we fear life, because we want to play our deck Aces High or Ace of Spades. We want to play Top o da club.
But we never evaluate the club and its prestige, sure the prestige is there,
But what is it?

As for doing nothing, I see you, Life's gotta just be meditative and flow again,
Like we was when we all was before we were told sky daddy gonna whip r arses,
If we dont smack dat booty, if we dont settle that United National case.
At the very same time, I see the perspective of all the people that I care about who may care about me, until circumstance gives way to the contrary. And our shared perspective based on our experiences shows me there are things to do.
And maybe these things don't matter at all to the world at large, or maybe they don't matter to even those that are within my public domain, but they may matter to me, and if they matter to someone else that cares about me, well then that's great.

yeah, the only meaning is that what we make for ourselves and thus we can make it as meaningful as we want or not, imo.

So we can make our own stories and such. Or fall into the other stories going on now and try to be a character there, if we want too.

Exactly!

Damn, we are attached to stories. We should be!
We are all such fucking lunatics!
