Art - Mushroom Inspired Drawings * 3

Here’s a colored pencil drawing of a group of P. hoogshagenii, not 100% taxonomically accurate but close enough that you know what it is.



Here is a watercolor of an Amanita muscaria, didn’t really turn out great but it was my first attempt at watercolor since grade school art class, heh.



I have some more that I will upload soon, I hope you all like them.

Man I don't know about other parts of the country but "different" "abstract" is in and people are paying a lot for stuff not based of what it's made from but how unique it is.. Which has always been the case to some degree.

I'm a "builder" and I've built stuff over the last couple years from rough cut lumber and did nothing to it and gotten top dollar. These mantles over the fireplace from old wood beams for 1000$. Lamps made from black iron for 200$.

My point is man you have a gift and if it's something you want to do find a way to monetize that. I'm just jealous of people who can do that sort of thing. We all have our own gifts, I can fix anything and build anything but the art side of my brain not working.

I'll make a deal..... I'll build the furniture and you do the inlay stuff and we'll agree on a price

Thank you for the compliments. I would love to do some inlay work, if you’re serious about that I’m sure it would be fun.  I did a couple more colored pencil drawings.





I’d like to hear any feedback anybody has about it, if you like it, let me know and if you think it’s awful, then tell me that too, any criticism is welcome, it can only help me improve, so let me know what you think, and I’ll just keep posting pictures that I draw here.

Here’s a diagram I sketched in my notebook which turned out ok (based off one I saw in a textbook). Makes my notebooks more interesting if there’s pictures, haha

That looks like a good textbook quality illustration, nicely done.

What kind of tools do you use for your wood carving? I whittled some super basic stuff years ago (not nearly that nice!), seems like it'd be fun to get back into.
