Rhizopus under lid ..

so I cant tell where it is coming in at it looks like the rubber seal is failing ?? May be i am not tightening the lid enough? Most of these lids were brand new . ... my filters as said before are only .3 as is my hood .. I have found penicillin under the ring as well on the grain that sticks to the lid ... this jar was fully colonized but as you can see the grain dries out maybe I will just take all these filters off and try that cUse this is killing me Haha


It's just strange cause jars that are nocced UV the same day g2g some will be fine others will have either rhizopus or some of kind of white mold that resembles myc just more whispy

if its not happening to your pasty plates im inclined to think its your inoculant. Pasty plates are canaries in the coal mine for mold.

It has been happening in them as well bacteria, white molds, and green ...


I may have to get a new hood I am not sure why it was working fine up till like a month ago ..


But in the same sense I have alot of clean jars and plates it seems like right up till the last minute they will go bad .. just like that jar in the pic it was good till from what it looks like just a few days ago at most .. I been slacking on coir cause of the contams .. but it is frustrating.. that jar took about 17 days to colonize its roughly 22 days past full right now


I am running an ac full time in there would it be possible that the air is just working spores into my jars and plates ? I am cheap and use pasty plates Haha

Yea . Switch over to some 1/2 pints for agar and see how that treats you.

Yeah I'll check em out something needs to change for sure i am going to bleach bomb my grow room and hopefully that will help .. i just dont see how the shit is popping up  right under the lid . I am going to make the tyvek filters today as well

Definitely strange I can't find a straight answer but I did see some rhizopus spores are as small as .2 microns if thats the case my filters are no good... but every site has a different answer some were .4 to 10 some said .2 some said .6 up so who knows .. I am changing the filters for sure
