"Who gets to decide whether anything is done about violations of the law of war?"

The decision to prosecute is made by the relevant prosecutorial body.  In this case, that would be JAG, most likely.

That's not how it works.  The Nuremberg trials clearly established that following orders is not an excuse to break the law, if taking the problem up the chain of command does not lead to change then there is corruption up the chain somewhere and you have to take a different approach.

That may be your moral stance, but that's not the law.  We're not talking about following orders, anyway.  We're talking about the choice to release classified information to the media.  Nothing in the Nuremburg trials had anything at all do to with that issue.

Besides, in this case, it was Manning that broke the law.  He pled guilty, in fact.

Manning broke domestic law, her commanders broke international law.  Unfortunately the international law community aren't willing to enforce any laws on the US.

"International law" is a bit of a misnomer, anyway.  The U.S. is only subject to laws insofar as it chooses to be.  Besides, any war crime committed by someone else doesn't change the fact that Manning broke the law.

Also, the alleged "war crimes" were investigated and the decision was made not to prosecute.

Gun control like the democrats talk about will NEVER work in America.

All the people that propose these sanctimonious gun laws dont know anything about guns.

Do you realize before the 1940's gun manufacturers werent even required to put serial numbers on their firearms????

You talk about banning all "assault weapons" with mags over 10 rounds, that is literally 90% of the guns in circulation.

Most modern handguns would then be classified at "assault weapons"


People find machine guns tucked away in weird places all the time, before the 1930s there were essentially no restrictions on full auto/suppressors.


There are over 15 MILLION ar-15s in circulation that the government knows about.

If what happened in Canada ever happened in the state, there will be MANY MANY MANY MANY psychos coming out of the shadows.

This is something that gets people very heated, and any attempt to infringe on the 2nd amendment will be met with very serious blowback.

Who would be in charge of enforcing these bullshit new gun laws?

Military and police.......

You know why that would never work????

Cause liberals dont join the military or become police......

Those men and women took an oath of uphold the constitution, against enemies BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.....
This is not something many of them take lightly.

The far left are honestly insane.  They actually believe gun control prevents violent crimes :lol: . ... The government doesn't want you to have guns because they want more power over you. It has nothing to do with saving lives!!! They don't care about you and never did.

That man in Nova Scotia that murdered those 22 people didnt even buy his guns legally..... yet they are going to attempt to confiscate firearms from millions of law abiding citizens....

Joe got millions of voters to vote for Trump in 2020 by saying he wanted to name Beto O' rourke as his gun czar.....


Beto wants to institute mandatory gun buyback programs....
This is utterly delusional in a country that has 10s of millions of aks/ars alone.

lets say they pay fair market price for these firearms.....

Average one is say $1000...
That is 20BILLION DOLLARS..... 2x of what trump wanted for his border wall....

This doesnt even account for the probably 100 MILLION other rifles the libs would classify as "Assault weapons"

Connecticut tried a mandatory buy back.....

They achieved a 5% compliance rate....

It's not even that Trump is likeable, Joe is just so laughably unlikable.
