Yeah these new pictures look a lot worse...OP just take the poly completely out and let that dry out a bit...remember what I said about dialling it in. If the water isn't evaporating then it's not getting enough air!

the water seemed to be evaporating just fine after i loosened the polyfill but then it seemed that the sub was shrinking from the sides a bit and i felt its getting dry
so i think it seems too wet because i poured some water to the sides and over the sub and misted too.
so i removed one of the pollyfills but im still not sure what is the problem with this tub.
i really hope it gets to fruiting.
Ive been planning to change my location but i have kept my plans waiting because of the stress it would cause to this tub, so i really been looking forward to get this tub to fruiting, i hope it does.

When it needs water just lightly mist it...you really don't need to pour water on it...sub shrinkage is normal and you resupply it with light misting.

Hold off from watering and let it dry up a bit.

You can put the poly back in if you think it was getting good air before.

In my experience on the first flush of a mono, just before it starts pinning, I adjust the tape or poly so that it needs to be misted once or twice a day and it's a good amount of air exchange and evaporation. More air exchange and misting than that is fine if I'm willing to tend to it that often and not let it dry out. However if I'm habitually misting it once or twice a day and there hasn't been enough evaporation then I run into problems. In the beginning of the first flush long before it starts pinning I notice that the sub exudes moisture and replaces the droplets on the surface at the same rate it is evaporating so it looks like there has been no evaporation even if the air exchange is proper. Its usually the second half of the first flush that I see droplets evaporating off the surface. My experience anyways. Different sub recipes hold moisture more or less than others, and different environments play a role in it as well. Though I try to control the temp and humidity in my room so I have a better handle on things

Wow that makes a lot of sense, very useful information.
is there anyway we can figure out if its from evaporating and gtting replaced or from low fae??
interesting...

This is one reason I use micropore tape, because you can follow a standard hole setup with certain amounts of tape on the top and bottom holes and know that its a proper starting point. It removes guesswork. With polyfill the suggestions of loose and tight are very subjective and hard to discern on your own and without a lot of experience. If you change to micropore tape follow pastywhites thread "micropore dialed monos". His tape recipe works very well. If you keep using poly I'd refer back to franks thread about "dialing in monos like a champ" or something (I forget the exact name).

The above recommendation of removing the poly and watching closely until the sub dries out is great. Just keep a close eye on it and don't let it dry completely out before you start misting again. Then adjust your poly til your misting once or twice a day to maintain a field of sparkles and don't worry about your sub shrinking

I live in an area that's super dry in the winter and varies greatly in the summer. Now I just keep my room climate controlled, less variables. If you have high humidity or low humidity the same general method applies though, adjust your tape or poly until you need to mist it once or twice a day. If your in a dry area this means you'll need more tape or poly to accomplish it which will lead to slightly less big and dense fruits but your sub will stay healthy and after a few flushes you'll get about the same yields assuming everything else is on point. Just speaking from my experience though

Not sure if your asking yourself this question :notsureif:

Stop pouring water on it. Just lightly mist it next time. Take the polyfill out and let it dry out a little bit. I think it juet needs some drier, fresh air for like a day or two.

is it really okay to take all the polly's out ? would there be any contam risk?
if i take the polly out should i stop fanning it ?
I just finished reading the thread you mentioned and judged by those examples i should've just misted them.
they might've been fine a couple days before ( the pics at beginning of the post) cuz it had the moisture beads on the surface.
When i made this tub it had micropore at first but then many ppl suggested i replace with polly cuz of more FAE.

loll right it looks like im asking myself : ))
i just dnt wanna stress the tub out cuz all of the changes im making on its environment out of panic.
I'm worried it might get contaminated if i take all the polly's out ??
im really confused now : ))

Once its fully colonized, it wont really contaminate. Fruiting isn't a sterile process. Its semi-clean but not sterile by any means. It uncolonized susbtrate you don't want exposed to open air.

Fanning is an outdated practice. Proper FAE is whats more important.

alright, thanks for clarifying that.
I'll just turn the fan off now lol

That's not what he meant by fanning is an outdated practice, fanning would mean you are using the lid of the tub to waft air in it in a back and forth motion. What you're referring to is running a fan in the room to circulate air. This is unnecessary but some folks do it. I find it easier to dial things in without a fan. The heat of the substrate cycles air in and out of the tub plenty. Small adjustments in poly or tape become more substantial when you're running a fan, I don't advise it. Just know that if you've been running one things will change once you turn it off so pay attention.

i see, yes i was referring to usin fan for air circulation.
I've used it for both grows so far, so if im taking out the poly now then its probably better to not use a fan anymore.
furthermore, the fan i used i would let it directly fan the monotub.
for like 4 or 5 hours a day.
