Anyone have their dehydrator slow down when it gets warm?
I'm using mine today for the first time in like 3 months and after running for 10 minutes the fan sounds like it slows down and there is practically no air flow coming from the top of it.
I've taken it apart and theres no shite in and around the fan or in the bottom of it. Its probably less than 12 months old (just) but I bought it off Ebay and cant be arsed to send it back under warranty.

I think its fucked, it ran fine for over half an hour without the trays. 10 mins after I put the trays on it slowed down and there was no air coming from it.
I've ordered a new one, be here Thursday.

Well, I've been super busy lately building my LFH!!!!

It's almost done. I got it wedged into place in my closet (aka Mushroomlandia) but I have to cut down a shelf so the pre-filter box can fit on the top, then I'm done with it. The blower is so strong I'm having a really hard time getting the flow so that the lighter is just right. The above picture was tested outside the space, when I got it into the closet and in-place, the flow went down and didn't bend the flame as much. Took off a little of the blocked intake and BAM blowing out the lighter... so I'll get there, I just have a few more tweaks. After I get this dialed in then I'll make some agar and pour plates in front of it and leave one open for a few minutes to test it out.
Things have picked up for a bit socially and at work so I haven't been around the shroomery as much, I'm still here though! Kinda not doing anything else besides this LFH until it's done due to mold issues too though, so likely I'll be here more when I'm working more on cult.

Nope was literally a swab from an average B+ mushroom spawned at a ratio of 1:2. I’m boggled by how it looks.

First flush Cambodian:

They pinned like mad but there were a lot of aborts.

Also, there are a few brown ones and a lot of white shrooms. A few are a little in between. Do Cambodian do this more often? Thought I saw someone grow white cambos a few days ago in the threads.
Went a lot dryer with this sub bc I was usually over fc with my subs and it pinned great but a lot of aborts. Too little fae perhaps? Idk. Also still a lot of sidepins.
Think I'm cloning both the bigger brown guy and one of the better white ones.
Any of you got any comments on why aborts usually happen? Haven't really cared untill now that I have some good clone cultures going.

I've not seen leucetic cambos before... they're usually brown. That's pretty cool!
I've read that aborts happen due to the substrate not being able to feed the spawn properly. Meaning basically the mushrooms have enough of something to pin (nutrition from grains likely) but not enough of something else after they start growing to sustain them (likely water content in the substrate). I know that's not the most scientific answer, but that's what I've kind of gathered from people who've talked about it in the past.

That would mean that we have finally hit the dry side of field capacity
I'll be saving my leucistic cambos for sure then! Maybe even try to stabilize.. Could be a fun long term project

Maybe! Hehe, maybe a bit too far on the dry side even
Yeah! Do it! Work out that custom variety (as long as it's still got some potency )

Does anybody know what a good ratio is for spawning ATL 7 or any stone producers for that matter?

a little above 1:1 has been ok for me, but it's all i've tried so far. lower might be better, and i'm just ignorant.
i'd wager 1:2-3 would be better, thinking that lower ratios would flush out sooner, so a sub destined to contaminate would produce higher be sooner. but then, i'm certain 100% coir isn't ideal, so the sub has to be pasteurized, which is more involved, and difficult for larger amounts.
