Gummy shelf life is a few months in sealed containers like most edibles.
Frozen they last indefinitely.

I have not had caps be any less of a trip. I start with an empty stomach no matter how I ingest them and for me the come up is very fast with caps. Just after I notice that there is something different happening in my head I am full on tripping within about 10-15 minutes. After I swallow the caps its usually about a half hour before I bump my head into Saturn...sometimes Uranus.

I have the 000 filling jig and I have a hard time getting more than .65-.7 grams per cap. The posts on the tamping tool seem small and it seems like a slightly larger post would compact the powder better.

Overall I think the caps are the way to go. Easier to store and way easy to hide. I keep them in old cordyceps and lions mane bottles. A little messy when you are filling caps but way worth the trouble.

here i wanted to post all my capsules ive filled over there years.  spg pointed out that its kindof an artform of mine.
i suppose it is. 

green and yellow size 000 filled with hua.  "tylenols"


red and  orange 00 filled with wollagong. 


pink and orange #1 filled with hua.  aka grapefruit


pink and black #1 with natal. 



blue and yellow 00 filled with hua.  shrimps called them
minions.  aptly.



black and red #1 filled with maza.  aka


red and blue 00 with PE.  "tetsuo beans".  these were mean.


mixed colors filled with mixed strains.  "mystery beans"


clear 00 fillled with pe.  the original "jerry bean".

I am replying to this for a couple reasons.  one reason is that I have finished collecting all the data on fully filled capsules of all four sizes that i use. (1-000)

I also realized yesterday that my technique for making partial batches is kind of lame.  The paper template is fine for getting the capsules in the right holes, but after that, it serves no purpose other than slowing you down and making it impossible to use the tamper.  Just take it off and fill the capsules as you normally would. Of course, some powser will fall through the empty holes and that's fine. See, now you can just use the normal tamper rather than the drill bit.

I actually think it's easier to just fill the entire plate with capsules, then using a piece of cardboard, cover the holes that you want to keep and dump what you don't want out if that makes sense.  for really small batches its probably faster to just fill the plates by hand.

ALSO I realized yesterday that the tamper for the 000 machine is the bees knees for ALL sizes of capsules.

I edited the tek with a note about this.

I still don't know how you guys get the numbers in there that you do.  I struggle to beat .33 per 00 capsule.  I've never tried filling the caps though, dunno if people are doing that, or if they're just more patient and willing to do 5+ tamps to get there.  It could also be related to my grind, though I felt like I ground them down pretty fine.

If you've never grown mushrooms before, here's how you start.  First, follow the Updated PF Tek, put 4 holes in jar lids not 1, and use a water tub! 
The next move is Shoebox Tek. After that you move onto grains, agar, monotubs.  Agar is easy, just do it.

i do tamp pretty much until you cant smash anymore in there.  using the 000 tamper makes it faster.

Nice job. I’m looking for size 4 pill making. I understood from a website that size 4 would give approximately .2g if it’s very fine ground! Any ideas?

Hey Beefs whats the oldest capsule you've eaten/know of being eaten? I've been capping all of my grows just to save space but wondering if its different from keeping the dried fruit in jars.

Size 0 would be the closest.  See the data at the end of the tek

I have a friend who had a jar of PE capsules from like 4 years ago and they were still potent af.

I pop em in jars with a 5g dry and dry pack and vac seal. I've yet to have a dud cap :shrug: -- but they haven't ever lasted more than a year.
