Just thought Id share my bonus score  today ...
180ml deli dishes....same diameter as the 280 ml ...just abit lower in height .... = more in pc... winner winner in my book

I did this method but got water in the agar, think its because condensation, shoud I remove the water or it does not affect?

You could tip the water out in your SAB before use if its really bad - otherwise just ignore.wont hurt anything.

My favorite no pour plate is a combination of the Ball smooth sided 4oz jelly jar and a Walmart Mainstay Regular size plastic lid.  I only use this setup for spores or agar to agar transfers.  When I'm ready to tiger drop I use the normal Pasty approved plastic containers.
  • Smooth sided jelly jars allow you still see inside
  • Walmart lids are so crappy that they do not seal water tight
  • Since they do not seal you do not need an extra hole
  • Since you do not have an extra hole you don't need micropore tape
  • Since you do not have micropore tape you don't need aluminum foil

Ball lids cave more frequently with no ge hole especially when stacked

wish shipping on these was better, I was stoked at 19.49 for a case of 250 but the cheapest shipping is 16.53 for me = $36.02

Yeah, i was put off by the price of shipping too. Its getting harder for me to find small pp5 containers locally so i might as well buy them.

lve already got the ball jelly jars and glad mini rounds but visibility isnt the best in those and these are clear all the way around.  as long as they hold up Im good.  :super:

I did a lot of no pour dishes of varying types for a long time, for me nothing beats pouring petri dishes in the flow hood.

I used this agar plates and got less contamination.

However, I saw that water accumulated, I guess due to condensation.
Should I remove the water? or it does not affect?

It seems mine condensate alot to. Once you pour them let them cool pretty good before you put lid on them and PC them. That helped me. Still there but not as much and it isn't rolling around in my plates. I use the crap out of these. I only use once tho which idk why. After I make them I put them in ziplock bags after PC and after I noc them up.

I ran a hot scalpel right through the plate on accident. Very clean PE6 3T. Fucked it right up. Flaw with these. So be careful blade isn't too hot or it will melt right threw

I have that problem with glad rounds, too.  Looking to try these out but I’m still sketchy on the lid even though others have said they’re even easier to open than the glad rounds...is that still the consensus?

They are easier to open but once you pressure cook them one time sometimes the lids get warped and they're loose and don't snap-on very well

I got a case, already made 40 or so over the last month.

Pros:
Good visibility / clear lid
Drillable ( use a sharp  drill bit)
Stackable
Size much better than mini rounds
Easy lid open / close
Cost
Can write on lid

Cons:
Indented bottom ( outer portion thicker than center when poured)

Probably won't reuse, a bit flimsy,won't trust lid after 1 PC round ( haven't tried yet)

More condensation than mini rounds, however I pour out in SAB before I work with. I start with totally cooled, fog free dishes after after pouring ( about an hour of sit time before lid is on)

Crack easily when drilling, just use full RPM on drill, should avoid cracking

Due to lid design, wouldn't trust upside down storage.

Because of the " ease" of the lid, lid would most likely come off if dropped or handled roughly. Need to handle somewhat cautiously, no biggie, but not gonna " toss around.

Overall, not perfect,however best nonpour dish I've come across, would use over Petris any day of the week, since I don't have a flowhood.

Just for the record I have never had a ball lid or mainstays regular sized lid cave as seen in the pic above.  I've had a handful of the wide mouth lids cave but I attribute that to me forgetting to loosen before PC'ing.
