Sertraline and psilocybin

Hey there, long time member but hardly ever post.

Not tripped in many years, but looking to re ignite my youth this year. Just ordered some truffles which should hopefully arrive in the next week or so.

Now to my main query, in recent years I have suffered clinical anxiety and I'm currently medicated on 100mg sertraline daily. As this is a SSRI I'm wondering if it will diminish the effects of the psilo.
I'm ok to not take them for 3-5days before if necessary but would rather not if possible.

Any thoughts good shroomerites or anyone who has been in the same situation?

I used to take that drug. I was able to trip just fine. But, in retrospect I find anything less than 7 grams to be disappointing. The two may be related, but it's not like shrooms are expensive so it was no concern

I had some L last year and the effects were diminished quite a bit so was just curious of the effects with mushies.

Apparently ssris diminish the effects quite a bit. i was on them for a couple of yearsr, got super fucked up one time on about 60g fresh.

Can you really just stop taking them? The withdrawals for me were awful, they would start after a few hours if i didn’t take them. Terrrible feeling, it felt like I was getting a mild electric shock every minute or so. And a fat brain fog. Haven’t heard others talk about this much tho, maybe it’s just me?

I went away for a weekend last year and forgot to pack them, didn't notice any  withdrawals so to speak, just took about a week to get back into my system properly.

  To be fair I was only away for 3 nights , so 5 might be pushing it a tad.
We will see any way, ordered 30g of sclerotia so got a good couple of mild/moderate doses.

I discussed this with my psychiatrist. He said there's no definitive study on the interaction topic, so you have to experiment. I found that mushrooms have more effect on me in the afternoon than morning, when I would normally dose with 25-50 mg sertraline. So, I've transitioned to one day microdose (no sertraline), followed by 2-5 days with 25mg sertraline then cycling to the next microdose. The benefits are profound the day after microdosing, and tapering off the following days. I'd microdose more often if I had easier access to larger quantities of mushrooms (thank you, shroomery!!!)

Are you intending to have a major experience or microdose? Since you are on a moderately high dose of sertraline I suggest you owe it to yourself to learn first whether microdosing would enable you to reduce your sertraline intake, especially since you want to "re ignite your youth." For most people, sex goes better without the sertraline.

Just looking for a mild to intermediate dose to start with, get a feel for the fungus again as it's been at least 9 years since I had any. Not wanting to micro dose as I'm happy with how my meds are working still. Thanks buddy

I’m late to the party.

I have had similar life experiences, and sertraline did not have a significant effect on my psychedelic experiences compared to before I started taking an SSRI. How did it work out for you?
