Tao Te Ching, Flow States, and Mushrooms

My thinking recently crystallized along the lines of the title during a day of striking synchronicity - paths taken for small reasons leading to large and useful artistic results, coincidences well beyond ordinary levels. And all while stone sober, waiting on cultivation. :mushroomgrow:

And then trying to explain (hopelessly of course) the source of the Tao I could see how much of the benefits of mushrooms lie in how they actively evoke such states in spite of what you might otherwise believe. If you google "tao te ching and flow states" you get an awful lot of similar stuff, if you add "psychedelics" to the search it gets really interesting.

So this is well trod ground, but it doesn't really matter - it speaks to a fundamental human state IME.

Do you get flow experiences while tripping? I sure do. Do you feel like you're tripping when you enter flow states otherwise? I do.

If you're familiar at all with the Tao Te Ching, have you noticed how much of it seems derived from the same states that psychedelics invoke?
