Some PE6 Grown in 72qt monos (WHY MY DUDES MIDGETS) * 2

I have been growing some PE6 in 72 qt monotubs.

All three have turned out quite well with even canopies. One issue i have is my lack of size. I think it is genetic but i am really not positive. They just all stay quite small in comparison to most i have produced. they are high in potency, though.

These tubs are 1:2 ratio. 5 quarts of spawn to 10 qts of coir/verm. Quite plentiful in terms of weight. I just have to be at least a little bit curious as to why the lack of size. I have read that an over hydrated substrate can stunt the growth height-wise. Either way I'm just happy to be sharing my success' instead of my failures.

Thats what i have found man, my fiancee and I have been microdosing. Believe it or not we both took .3 in tea one morning and got lit for a solid 3 hours with no intentions of that happening at all. We had to call in to work. Potent little fuckers. Thanks for stopping by mushboy, love your work.

I have been putting out near an ounce a quart. My issue is in the second and third flushes. I seem to slaughter the substrate so bad that the fruits are few and far between in comparison to the first flush. I know second and so on are quite sporatic, it's just concerning to me.

That's the goal, to get to where you don't see enough in the third to warrant even keeping it

Real estate is definitely the concern, but at my access is a full 1100 square foot basement. I just need some capital for tubs and jars. May make the transfer to myco bags for convenience and space sakes.

Im hammering out 20 qts minimum a week, and want to quadruple my current op. So in doing so i feel like having 400 jars is a pain. bags it must be lmao.

Beautiful tubs man! I myself am just starting agar, spore swabs currently as I progress however the plates always develop random blotches of bacteria around them.

2 shoeboxes going atm and definitely would like to start a mono soon! I have 12qts at about 50~ atm. Would love to work on some agar and get canopies like that!

like others have said, The size doesn't matter if that is what your canopy looks like :thumbup:
With that said  one way I have found to get bigger fruits is straw. Straw is the shit, also shit is the shit. Coir is great an all because of its ease but straw and poo = bigger fruits.

That logic is dated as f man. Sub does not determine fruit size.

I had a similar experience with tiny fruits.  I have that culture slanted, so I may try it again to see if there's any difference.

I'm speaking from results, not regurgitating out dated info.

Using straw might be low on the list of things that will eventually determine fruit size but they are all related. Obviously fruiting conditions and genetics are key players.
Large substrates benefit from straw at the very least to colonize quicker.  Poo holds water better then coir. it just does
Tell me what is out dated about having a proper substrate. I like straw. cubensis love dung.
I should have said  poo in conjunction with straw = bigger fruits if conditions are right  and all fruiting requirements are met.
Its like how Co2 is useless for plants unless you have correct lighting. 
higher C02= better for plants is not true unless all other requirements are correct.

Substrate type does not determine fruit size. Cubes flourish on pure coco coir alone. Hpoo based subs shouldn't even need straw added. It's already chopped up in the duke.

Nothing is dated about using whatever sub you want but saying you'll get larger fruits from poo/straw or any other sub over another is dated. Because it's been proven to be not true:shrug:

Any sub can give any grower wildly different results. the only time i grew bunk potency cubes was on hpoo based sub. Totally blew me away at the time because back then hpoo was how you grew potent cubes:stonedjerk:

"Type" does matter the type you need is a proper one, IME a substrate prepared with poo and straw will help obtain better results for longer. I am not arguing over coirs ability to do a good job.
I was on the same page as you untill i did my own experiments.
all the biggest mushrooms i have seen on this site or in real life have been in substrates that consisted of straw and or poo.
ust take a look at cubensis Straw logs, they are a lot more work than a shoebox of coir but god damm those results. You think azurs boner cloner would have looked like this if he was spawing to coir?

Your success with poo and straw is not proof even if you had isolates and ran a control group. All you would have proven is that you are better at growing with poo/straw than with coir.
