Birding!
    #26014635 - 05/26/19 04:19 PM (4 years, 8 months ago)

Any bird fans here?

I was just watching a Blue Jay play in my GF's fountain at the house. It was really having a great time jumping up and down the fountain, bathing in the water. I always marvel how acrobatic they are, moving and dodging around the air. The precision is unreal.

I also noticed a new species Ive never seen before in Oregon, Mina Birds! In Hawaii, Mina birds were everywhere and were quite the characters! But here in Oregon, just this month i started seeing them. Whats weird is that they are smaller than the Hawaii ones and quietier too.

What sorts of birds do u like to watch?

Birds are pretty neat. Every time I see a cardinal I'm reminded of my grandfather. Other favorites are blue jays, orioles, hummingbirds, and hawks/eagles of any sort.

Owls creep me out but also intrigue me with their stoic look.

Love those hummingbirds. When they hover at a flower to feed, way too cool

I was also at the river around sunset and saw a bunch of bats flying over head and near the water. Very agile creatures. That was awesome to watch.

Yeah.  Use to think it was dumb even as a nature freak.  Then went on one with one that was really into it.  I love it waking up at sunrise and the chirping of the birds socializing and is a wonderful vibe.  Happy, even in rain.  One learns over time to get they are very sociable creatures to each other, and they take notice when once in awhile humans take notice of them and that whole world they live in.:wonka:

Humans can destroy everything in nature, birds, they enjoy life.  The tone of the chirps and the communication between them, plus the beauty of them.  Shit, I just love life right now as it is my time.  One only gets so many Summers in life.

That was really nice Barnaby :sunny:

Im at the park and Im watching Sparrows fly around. They are so cool! They look like little gliding fighter jets flying thru the air. One was even doing horizontal circles and was acting like how insects fly. The precision is insane!

Just saw the sparrows playing with a white feather. One would grab it in mid air then let go, then another sparrow would grab it and it would repeat. Wow.

In comparsion, ducks are here just chilling like a day at the beach

Heh, that's funny.

Barnaby mentioned how birds take notice when humans take notice of them living in their own world.

The ducks were families at the beach while the sparrows were the Blue Angels performing above. They were putting on a show for you!
