I agree with that. Super agressive marketing. Suggesting that growing non-native oyster endangers our native oyster. Native oyster only grows in beech forest, on beech.
Turns out he sells bricks of red beech as a by product of 'sustainable harvesting' (which doesnt exist).
I politely and professionally called him out on his claims/challenged his logic and very quickly was banned from all his groups.
He's trying to build a monopoly on scaremongering and weak claims.

Indeed. I was banned from his Facebook group as he 'misinterpreted' one of my comments. . . I'm glad that I'm no longer part of that kind of nasty Monopoly generating behavior. . .
Funnily enough he sells 'New Zealand's' only native oyster, and I'm also led to believe that there are several species. . . Looking to get some wild samples sent for propagation. Sounds like it is made of small fans that are much more delicate. . .
I did procure a syringe from the NZ cultures through a friend and there was no disclaimer that I saw anywhere during the purchase. . . Better ask my lawyer if I can grow them

Still doing my best on germing weraroa... hopefully its not dormant or something. When swabbing do the spores let go readily or do you have to squeeze somehow like i heard to do with truffle spores?
Also whats the deal with makarorae, is it found on both the islands and is it obscure/difficult? i know its not the hunting thread, i def would like to talk about cultivating it but i like a little background on it.
As for oysters i'm pretty curious about that olivaceus purpurata one you guys have but its not a great edible or is it?
need to read back more

If anyone desperately needs to get high strength alcohol and can't find meths or isopropyl anywhere, I'm going to be regularly making batches of 4-5 litres of ~90% ethanol from now on. PM me if you're interested. (Oh, I also have freshly harvested pachanoi seeds too).

@ArcadeDuck: Are you one of those New Zealanders we see on the news trapped in Peru ?!?
@Bodhibiscuit: Are you using water, sugar and yeast to make your alcohol or are you getting your sugars from Potatoes?

How long does the fermenting take? Do you have a link to your technique?

@psilocybiNZL For my reflux still, I usually run washes of 8 kg dextrose, 20 L water, and a pack of turbo yeast. To achieve ~20% ABV I let it ferment out over about a week. After letting it clear, I then run it through the still, which produces about 4 to 5 litres of 90% ethanol. I just follow the instructions on the yeast packet and the manual that came with the still

Do the Psilocybin Mexicanos grow down there as well?!?
Have you seen any Mimosa Hostilis or Banisteriopsis caapi around?
How much is a beer there or a night at the hostel?

I haven't seen any P. Mexicanos here
I also haven't seen Mimosa Hostilis, but went and got Banisteriopsis caapi and Psychotria viridis for the ayahuasca.
Things are cheap enough here near the amazon bro, depends how you wanna live to be honest, I have an air BnB which is 80nzd a night split by three of us. Drugs are cheaper than beer though.
