That's good to know. I'm waiting on a bunch of foggers and a splitter to arrive.
Last night I connected a STC-3008 to the fans and heating in my grow cupboard. The temperature now stays at ~20° by itself. Once the foggers arrive, I'll also add a SHT-2000 to control the humidity. Here's this morning's pic of the second flush of my first bulk grow:
Not too bad for my first attempt, I think. Looking forward to picking and printing some of those when I get home tonight. :-)

P.S. a kiwi is a native bird of New Zealand, like the first thread shows. They are real dangerous as they shoot laser beams from their eyes.
[edit] todays grain jars ready for PC. . .
 7 x 1L (7 x quarts) 3 x 500ml (3 x pints) 4 x 250ml (4 x 1/2 pints) [/edit]

How do you make the nice clean hole in the tape?

I stick tape in position over the hole then cut it out with a scalpel, peel the tape back only enough to position the tyvek square and stick the tape back down.
I used to apply one on the outside of the lid and one on the inside which seemed to help with possible contamination through the filter, now I don't have any problems and just do the single filter on the outside.

Using RTV silicone would not work because things have a hard time adhering to PE and PP, is the reason? If it's really called for I guess there are primers for PP these days..
But those are really neat containers! So then, one doesn't strictly need an expensive lab blender?
Sorry no kiwi, just fan.. I hope my subs pop up this fall, sadly at the time i made the balcony tub I didn't use any pine in it but I have pine cones saved and dried for next time

Ball 1/2 pint widemouth mason jars for $3.50 delivered. . .
I’m loving these jars at the moment. You can do a small ‘test’ grain jar that transfers nicely to larger ones. . .

Hey fam, been out of things a bit since that fiasco where Shroomery was down for weeks lol...
I've been seriously considering using plastic PP5 containers, rather than jars. Kmart has Anko 500mL containers, 3x for $2.50. They're screw-top and you can easily fit 20 of them into a 21qt Presto. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying jars.
Unfortunately though they don't sell 1L ones, the next step up is 2L. You can fit 4 of these into a Presto, although you kind of have to jam them in, so this might cause warping issues. Also if it contams, you're losing 2L of grains, instead of just 1L (if you use jars), or 500mL (if you're using the other Anko containers).
Annnnd, looking up, it seems like these containers are actually the same brand as what Inski has here.

Also, while I'm here... Is there anything that needs to be updated/added/deleted from the OP?

I like them and $10 for twelve is a good price, they don't break and store well stacked inside each other when not in use.
The only thing I don't like is the lid, it doesn't fit so well especially after a few runs in the pc.
Be sure to wash them well before use when new, there is a coating of some kind of soap or similar which I guess is applied during manufacture.

I read a few posts on using ‘Pasty Plates’ which suggested keeping them in pairs, i.e. same body with same lid, to avoid deformation issues. . . Sounds like a pain in the arse to me though. . .
I like glass, though you end up with rusty bands which are also a pain in the arse. . .
For agee/perfit quarts, keep an eye on trademe. . .

The Warehouse has similar 500ml pp5 containers that I’ve been using, a 3 pack is $3. I’ll check out the Kmart ones.

This is a small test run of Muda’s Bottle Tek in a 200ml glass jar, wanted to familiarize myself with the tek before the main event. Currently have 3 monotubs of bottles transferred to fruiting conditions.
