Hi guys, after reading this thread I decided to start a Kiwi DMT and MAOI thread, there is not much on it at the moment but hopefully with all the kiwis on this site and the thread it will grow

Trying an old washing basket as a grow tub, cut out extra holes around the sides. It’s mostly wood chips with a bit of cheap store bought compost. Added colonised wood shavings to it when filling, and have been putting colonised wood chips in through the holes. Got a tub the basket fits into, so might put it in there over summer to keep moist.
It’s become an addiction, every time I see a cheap tub at a charity shop I have to buy it and fill it with wood chips. Currently have 9 with a range of substrata.
Got some gains jars that are just starting to colonise, hopefully if all goes well I’ll have a whole new avenue of growing to explore.

That's a good plan! When it hits autumn you can stick it somewhere cold and humid, keep it damp and hopefully get shrooms out the sides as well as the top
Also I feel the addiction thing. I have 5 containers of woodchips colonising in my room lol. I find that growing stuff out on agar and transferring straight to chips works really well. Shit's going crazy.

Just use those New Zealand made sistema containers, they come in all sizes. Cubes can grow quite high though. One B+ grew up a 1.5L soda bottle.

Yeah that thread is not that active :/. I'm still trying to find a MAOI substitute in New Zealand, not having much luck, BUT I did find the Golden wattle plant that was mentioned, but the plant does not seed untill November/December
@Dunedinite: Any news on that libertycap?

Well good to see the site is back online!
I have in the meantime managed to clone my master agars onto 10 agar plates, and am seeing some health contamination on a few (fucking kill me) and now i'm looking into getting a Laminar flow hood, i am already $700 deep in equipment now, looks like i am going to break the 1k mark soon.
I currently also have 8 Grain Jars going from the master agar dishes, they are sitting on a heating mat, i'm concerned that i did not let the grain cool enough before adding the agar to it, time will tell.
I have all my equipment ready for fruiting, i am using something of a martha tek mixed with heating so i can automate the growing progress with as little interference as possible.
I will share my list of purchases and where to find them if anyone is interested, i also decided to go with the PC from amazon, it works very well.

We're back!!! Also looking at getting a Laminar flow hood. Found a pretty cheap hepa filter fan online, looked at the airflow and found it was too low. The more I've researched this the more complex it's become.

That hepa filter is 450 dollars more than the one i'm looking at, also that fan is not moving near enough AIR for that filter.

filter needs 1500 m^3/h fan is only pushing 120 on a good day.

Okay by my calcs. . .
 0.61 x 0.61 = 0.37m² airflow required: 100 ft/min = 30400.8mm/min = 0.51m/s 0.37 x 0.51 = 1.887m³/s = 680m³/h
Not sure what you mean by "filter needs 1500 m^3/h", the Filter tested up to 2600m³/m (well over 680m³/h required for air speed) with an initial pressure drop of 250Pa. I believe this drop under initial load?
That fan supplies 0.2m³/s (more than the 1.9 for the airspeed required) at 250Pa
To me it looks like the fan is on the small side at maximum pressure, though I would have thought that running at 1/4 of the filters max throughput wouldn't be running at 250Pa.
I'm no expert, and would love to be educated. Can you start by posting a link to the $150 Filter you are talking about? And continue by showing me where my calcs/assumptions are wrong?
2 Other possible Fans, again, please tell me if I'm wrong . . . $621 (inc GST) $470 (inc GST)

2ft x 2 ft = 4ft
4ft x 100ft = 400cfm
fan is 423.8CFM
Your maths is good, i should have looked at the numbers better, i just woke up when i commented that, so my bad :P

No Problem. I keep looking at the numbers then learn different info and go around in circles. . .
Still Keen on where to get H14 HEPA panel for $150.

Dont skimp on the fan. As soon as you put pressure on them their rati g will drop off, aim for 20% greater than what you need. You'll be looking for something at 150mm

I talked to a dude named Tony, he quoted me at 105 USD, door to door shipping included
http://www.cleanroom-airfilter.com/china-deep_pleat_high_efficiency_media_filter_galvanized_frame_h14_hepa_filter-10437171.html
Good luck! i think he offered me the sample for free as he seemed really nice.
so i would not be surprised if it was another 50 or so for yourself.

Ayyy welcome back fam
I see everyone has been busy hah. I've managed to expand my boxes of woodchips out enormously lol... Been running pinecones through a blender to break them up and feeding this to P. subaeruginosa and they fucking love it. Growing hard in the container which is just pinecones, without other stuff like soil and stuff. I think it's just because there's more space between stuff, more air exchange.

Sorry, what liberty cap? My stuff on agar is doing fine. I've actually been waiting for Shroomery to come back up so I can go through Workman's old stuff and see how they got theirs to fruit. I think I also have another thread saved too...
