How many other bike riders around here?
    #26037543 -

I'd like to see how many others ride bikes around here, and what type of riding? Street race on a curly bar? Bmx, freestyle bmx? Gravel, XC, enduro, trail, freeride, park and dirt jump or even trials? What style do you ride and why?

A cheap mountainbike. I love the nature and forest.  Eeasier to take care of than a horse. Need no food.

What an amazing thread!

I ride my montain bike to work every day. There is about 14 kilometers to get there and back... It is alot if you look in the long run. I love my job and I get excited every time I go to work. Bike riders are awesome and everybody loves us (except those crazy rat racers that are late to work). :smile:

I've heard about drivers in Milwaukee, I don't think I would ever go on the roads there.
  Even in the lake county I feel like I should be wearing my full face and body armor  just to ride around town. Don't know if it's because I ride a BMX and Dirt jump bikes or if the road bikers deal with the same.

I ride this kind of bike:

--------------------
Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

Many times, in London. Well, three to be exact. Rebuilt the bike each time. I know every nut and bolt on her.

Never broke a bone though.

Yikes!

So they have helmet laws over there?

In PA we don't have to wear helmets on motorcycles, but we get tickets for not wearing our seatbelts.

I've thought about it sometimes. The main thing that keeps me from buying one is that there are too few trails and too many people. If I lived in some kind of utopian city with trees and grass instead of streets where everyone bicycles everywhere, then maybe.

I'm an avid Bike rider!  I have a Trek Mountain bike and I do mostly paved roads but I have taken it on dirt and gravel trails.  Chicago has an 18 mile long bike trail on lake Michigan which is where I usually ride.  I will also drive out the city to trails in surrounding suburbs as well.

My old Honda and my current
I have a mountain/trail  bike and I’m wanting to ride it more. I need to take it to the shop and have it tuned up. It’s decent, no pic of that

I use to do 20 miles every night as a teen. have a trail by me that is 25 miles through wilderness and cow farms not a single turn straight line. i like to just sit back and let my mind disappear as i peddle...

--------------------
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

I got my bike fixed.

Sounds awesome. I love shredding on my bike. Im awaiting surgery on my stomach, so i cant go too hard and have kinda let my bike collect dust... but i am certainly eager to get back into it. Never did any 20 miles or anything but i loved riding 5-8 miles at night. Such a great release:heart:

I'll be honest i wasn't really pushing my self, it was only about 15-18 mph cruising. My dad would be done 30-45 mins ahead of me with a avg speed of 35mph.. i was just enjoying nature having a good time it really allowed my adhd brain to calm down. I didn't smoke back then i'd give my left nut for a nice bike and "the time" for rides, on some good dank mmmmm.
