Getting started growing

Due to the inability to find mushies in my area (weed and acid are readily available, but shrooms aren't for some reason) we've decided to start a small grow. I'm completely new to this, and the information I'm finding online is quite conflicting. What would be the easiest way (and cheapest) to start growing? We only need enough for the two of us to trip every so often, so I'm not trying to do a large grow. What spores are best? Should we make our own cakes or buy from a kit? Do we grow them in light or dark? And does buying spores and related items put you on a watchlist? Sorry for asking stupid questions, I just want a clear cut method to start this project.

Buy a syringe from a trusted vendor and go BRF cakes. No pressure cooker needed. Just syringe, BRF, verm, half pint jars and SGFC. And boom, shrooms. And with the brf cakes, you can mix with coir and make some shoeboxes.

If you have a  pressure cooker that can maintain 15psi, go grain... no cooker and not sure you'll be doing it again? BRF cakes... either can be used as spawn for shoeboxes: which are by far the most noob friendly bulk(ish) grow IME... coir drier than you'd think,  set and forget... might need to mist once before first flush harvest

I'll send you a print if you :pm: me your address ... though this makes cult without agar(and thus a PC) slightly trickier...
