Tor problem?

I tried to login through tor but I can't. Every time I press enter it returns me to message board without being logged in. I can only connect via incognito which I believe it's extremely unsafe. Has anyone an idea what's wrong?

Logged in with Tor without issue just now. Are you using TorBrowser? Guessing your site security settings are too strict. Probably javascript getting blocked.

Ok guys I found the problem. I had disabled the cookies. Now I can connect through tor but I have some questionings. Provided that I was using incognito, is there any reason using tor now for my account? I believe that is safer, but does it matter from now on?I have to change password or something?

Tor is absolutely pointless for visiting a very legal clearnet site. Unless you live in North Korea but then I would be hiding all internet use period lol.

Helps a lot if you are at work and they monitor the internet, but it'd be better to just use a normal VPN or set your cell phone up as a hotspot to get around the censors.

I'd avoid using Tor at work or any location linked to your identity. Tor traffic is very distinctive on the wire and it basically points a neon arrow at you that says, "Look! This workstation is trying to hide something." That's how they caught the Harvard bomb threat guy: he was the only person using Tor on campus when the bomb threat was sent. It's not an invisibility cloak.
The way to get around this is to run a public Tor relay (not an exit node) on the same host you plan to use Tor on. At least that provides a constant stream of Tor traffic that hides your own use, and it's publicly listed so all that traffic is expected and easily explained. Some aggressive blacklists filter Tor relays so you might not want to run an email server on the same IP address.
Your best bet for Tor is to visit a series of cafes with free Wi-Fi and spoof your MAC address when you join the access point. Otherwise, a VPN is fine if you have a good service. There are some that accept cash and don't keep logs.
I usually just open a SOCKSv5 proxy on a VPS hosted somewhere with good internet privacy laws. This is the best value and easiest setup, but you do need to make sure that your applications are properly configured to also proxy DNS requests.
A shameless plug for my guide, Security II: Computers and online. It's kind of high level in the sense that it doesn't provide stepwise explanations. But I did revise the Tor vs. VPN section after a good discussion with Mad Season.
As always, proper opsec rules still apply. Security III: The Shroomery itself has suggestions on how to maintain a healthy relationship with the forum.
