Of the various subtopics that have evolved, I think it is interesting the exploration of where to find subs/cincts, how often we are fooled by foes & similars (even yesterday I found many but have now come to recognize foes by sight like a gold miner can tell nuggets from pyrite).  I am absolutely certain I *did* find a cinct on my lawn years ago, but turns out they are indeed rarer than originally believed.  I think if we can clearly figure out the prime ways to hunt for them (besides dung piles) we can enlighten future explorers with the short cuts.  I now believe that many many many people (even some earlier in this very thread) have misidentified foes, and perhaps the reason why people regard cincts as being weak or garbage (because they mistakenly found iron pyrite instead of gold).  Foes are fools gold, cincts are the precious gold we seek.  As a sideline goal of this thread let's try to really nail down how to hunt for them, and clarify what are apparently misconceptions about them.

Let's also add to the discussion ideas about how to make backyard grass piles for the city folk, and indoor flower pots, which I believe would be relevant sidelines to this project as a whole.  Oh and of course fruiting in a standard shroomery way too.  We do want to enjoy some fruits, and of course be able to make prints. 

I think our little adventure could be fun for more than just the pearls, but let's face it... those Blue Pearls are quite the carrot to lead us horses forward in this quest!  Is anyone else speculating that their blue color must mean that they are more than simply visually appealing, but also indicators of potency?

The science-guy in me also loves all this genetics speculation going on too!

Potency is like all the other active ones. Depends on genetics.
I know some people who have eaten 10 grams dried and said it
was weaker than  average cubes. Others have said an eighth was
just as potent as cyans.

I think for starters a few of us can compare agar growth of the
common pans found in grass/lawns (fimicola, olivaceus, acuminatus,
affinis, antillarum, semiovatus,lentisporus(asia), and compare to
cinctulus.

Also undescribed panaeolus species could be comparedas well.
